The Premier League returns after a week-long break due to international fixtures and Matt Le Tissier is here to share his thoughts on the ten scheduled matches taking place from Friday – Monday.
This week, Matt Le Tissier has selected a Sunday double, a Draw No Bet treble as well as his NAP in one of Saturday’s four fixtures.
I would take Chelsea to beat Newcastle although I do get a bit concerned when the manager has a moan about the time of the kick-offs after international fixtures. It puts a little doubt in my mind that Frank isn’t fully confident. I do fancy Chelsea to win this one but odds of 1/2 may be a little short.
Aston Villa to beat Brighton is my NAP this week. I wasn’t expecting Brighton to struggle this much but they just haven’t been clinical enough. They haven’t won in their last six games (D3, L3) and even when they do score goals, they seem to lose the game.
Tottenham v Man City – I can’t really separate these two and if I was to have a bet, I may go for Under 2.5 goals. City are not as free-flowing as they were and Spurs have scored the majority of their goals away from home so far this season. You can get odds of 29/20 for under 2.5 goals to be scored with Betfair.
Man Utd are quite short against West Brom at around 3/10. They haven’t won at home in six games which is the first time doing so in around 30 years. West Brom haven’t been particularly great but I wouldn’t risk too much on United at these odds.
Everton to beat Fulham will be going in my double this week along with another of Sunday’s games. I think they’ll have too much for Fulham despite a couple of poor results recently.
The other match included in my double will be West Ham to beat Sheffield United. Sheff Utd have had a great couple of years in the Premier League but the intensity perhaps of how they go about their business and have done for the past couple of years, may be catching up with the players a bit. West Ham are in pretty good form also and so an Everton / West Ham double seems good value at 3.77/1 with Boylesports.
Neither Leeds or Arsenal are in great form but with the odds available on Leeds, I think I’d go for a Leeds Draw No Bet. I’ll be putting this in a treble with two other draw no bet selections.
Liverpool v Leicester will be a fascinating game. Leicester should give Liverpool a good game and will probably try and play as they did against Arsenal where they defended deep and look to hit them on the counter. This is a great chance for Leicester and for Vardy to have a real influence on this game. I wouldn’t be incredibly confident on betting a lot on Liverpool and so a Leicester Double Chance is what I’d go for here especially with them beating Arsenal, Leeds & Wolves in their last three games and only conceding one goal across those matches.
I favour Palace slightly in their match against Burnley on Monday but the obvious bet for me is under 2.5 goals. I may even go for Under 1.5 goals if I wanted to stick my neck out. Under 2.5 goals is 4/7 with Unibet but you can get 9/5 for Under 1.5 goals with 888Sport.
Wolves v Southampton should be a good game. Southampton are without Ings still which is obviously a concern but it didn’t seem to make a lot of difference against Newcastle two weeks ago where we dominated the game. Southampton will be going in my Draw No Bet treble this week with Leeds and Leicester.
