WhichBookie racing analyst Andrew Blair White provides a preview and betting tips for races at Fairyhouse on Wednesday 7th July.
The final World Cup fixture on Monday 28th November comes from Group H where Portugal meet Uruguay at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.
These two sides are strong favourites to progress out of the group which makes this a huge game for both teams. The winner would gain a significant advantage in finishing top of the group which should result in a more favourable fixture in the first of the knockout stages.
Portugal will be looking for revenge after being eliminated by Uruguay in the Round of 16 at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. They were the underdogs in that match but head into this clash as the favourites, priced at 11/10 for the win. It certainly won’t be a walk in the park for them but with Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch, it’s hard to write them off.

I’m not confident enough to back Portugal here at just over Evens. They’re certainly capable of winning but are sometimes hit or miss as they showed when being defeated 2-1 by Serbia during qualification and failing to find the net against Ireland.
Backing the draw appeals to me most from the match result market and I think that’s an outcome that would suit both sides. The draw is priced at 23/10 with William Hill or if you think you can rule out a stalemate, SkyBet are offering 7/2 for a 1-1, 2-2 or 3-3 draw.
Portugal vs Uruguay team news and line ups will be published here once full World Cup squads have been announced.
