The Masked Dancer series 2 is officially underway with the first episode of the new season airing in September 2022. The first series of the show was won by gymnast Louis Smith who was masked as ‘The Carwash’.
The show is based on the American TV series of the same name and is a spin-off of The Masked Singer which concluded its third series earlier this year.
The Masked Dancer works in a similar way to The Masked Singer in that there are 12 celebrity contestants who’s identities are hidden behind costumes. Each contestant performs a dancing act, along with dropping clues as to who they might be, and the judges attempt to guess their real identity.
Series 2 of The Masked Dancer will feature seven episodes which are each 90-minutes long and will air on ITV on Saturday evenings.

The second series of The Masked Dancer UK started on Saturday 3rd September 2022.
The show will air seven episodes on a weekly basis which will be shown on ITV at 6.30pm and the ITV Hub.
As the aim of the show is to guess who the celebrity contestants are being the costumes, their identities aren’t revealed until they are eliminated.
However, all of the characters of the show have been releaved.
This is only the second series of The Masked Dancer that has aired in the UK and so there has only ever been one previous winner of the show.
The Masked Dancer 2021 was won by gymnast Louis Smith who was under the disguise of ‘Carwash.
Actress, dancer and singer, Bonnie Langford came in second place with the character ‘Squirrel’.
Howard Donald, member of pop group Take That, finished the 2021 show in third place as ‘Zip’.
