Coral Review

Everything you need to know about Coral

The Coral brand dates all the way back to 1926 when Joe Coral launched his first bookmaker. Beginning by offering betting services at racecourses, Coral now has almost 2,000 land-based betting shops and a thriving online site.

Coral was acquired by Gala in 2015 and was later sold to rivals Ladbrokes in 2016 resulting in the company changing its name to Ladbrokes Coral. Ladbrokes Coral was then sold to GVC Holdings in March 2018 who it is owned by today.

In this Coral review, we’ll be taking a look at what the bookmaker has to offer to new and existing customers. You can read Coral reviews left by other visitors at the bottom of the page or leave your own review of Coral if you wish.

Welcome Offer

Being owned by the same company as Ladbrokes, Coral offer the same welcome bonus to new customers which will appeal to those who prefer to bet with smaller stakes and seasoned gamblers.

New customers at Coral can receive £20 in free bets when registering and placing their first bet of just £5.

As mentioned, the Coral welcome offer will appeal to many different types of bettors. The relatively small qualifying stake is appealing, as is the £20 in free bets. Follow the simple steps below to claim your Coral free bets and a new customer.

1. To claim the Coral free bets, the first thing you need to do is to create an account. A Coral promo code is not required for this offer so don’t worry about searching for one.

2. Once you’ve created an account, you need to make a deposit of £5 or more. When making your deposit, we advise that you use a debit or credit card for the transaction as deposits made via Prepaid Cards, Moneybookers, Paypal, Paysafe, Neteller or Skrill will not qualify for the offer.

3. Next, you need to place a qualifying bet of £5 or more. This bet must be placed within 14 days of opening your account and it can be on any sports or market providing that the odds for your bet are ½ (1.5) or greater.

Providing you have met the qualifying criteria, as soon as you place your qualifying bet, £20 in free bets will be credited to your account. We particularly like this about this offer as some bookmakers make you wait until your qualifying bet has settled in order to receive your free bets.

The £20 in free bets are credited as 4 x £5 free bets. You can use these by adding a selection to your bet slip and selecting a free bet to use. You can use your four free bets on the same selection or different ones. If you wish to use them all on one bet, simply place a single bet with one of your £5 free bets and repeat it another three times.

If you are looking for a little extra value, Coral offer an enhanced sign-up offer when registering an account at a Coral shop using a Coral Connect card. A Connect card connects your online account with your in-store betting activity and comes with additional perks such as exclusive free bets and promotions. When registering this way, you are credited with the 4 x £5 free bets as you would receive online but you will also receive a £10 free bet to use in a Coral shop.

Sports & Betting Markets

Coral offers betting on a huge number of sports and markets in-store and online as you would expect from a bookmaker which has been established for over 90 years. You’ll find over 40 sports available to bet on and so you’re unlikely not to find the sport or event you’re looking for. Sports such as football and horse racing are obviously where the main focus is but you can also bet on sports such as Fishing, Handball, Hurling and Volleyball is you wish.

Below is a list of sports available to bet on at Coral.

There are no shortage of markets either at Coral. You’ll find a huge number of markets for popular sports such as football where you can bet on the match-winner, total team goals, HT/FT, the time of the first goal and dozens more. Other sports such as tennis, rugby, darts and basketball also have a large number of markets.

In-Play Betting

As you’d expect from a top bookmaker, Coral provides in-play betting on a huge number of sporting events throughout each day. We’re particularly fond of the layout of their in-play betting markets which makes it easy for users to find the market they’re looking for. In-play markets are categorised, which is a help as Coral provide so many markets. Some examples of categories for football include goals markets, half markets, team markets and score markets. Coral also offer #YouCall bets which are becoming increasingly popular with punters. These are bets which contain a number of selections in one bet. For example, ‘Man Utd to win, a goal in both halves, Rashford to score & Arsenal to receive the most yellow cards’. #YourCall bets are available both pre-match and in-play and give customers more freedom with their bets.

For many in-play events, Coral provide a graphic representation of current events in the game. For example, in a football match, you’ll be able to see which team are attacking and if there is a corner, throw-in, goal and more. This can be very useful when betting in-play when a live stream is not available.

There is also a range of statistics available for in-play events which can give you a better understanding of how the game is going. These may include the number of corners a team has had, the number of shots on target and the number of corners.

Overall, Coral’s in-play features and usability are excellent and up there with the best.

Live Streaming

Coral offer live streaming of various sports direct through their website and mobile app. There are close to 2,000 sporting events available to stream each week with streams for football, tennis, snooker, badminton, rugby, basketball, ice hockey, volleyball, greyhounds and of course, horse racing.

For football, you’ll be able to watch matches from popular leagues such as the Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1 and Dutch Eredivisie. For tennis, streams are available for the ATP (men’s) and WTA (women’s) tours all year round with action on clay courts, hard courts and grass courts for every Grand Slam live.

All sports with the exception of horse racing and greyhounds are completely free to watch. Simply log into your Coral account and visit the live streams page to view upcoming events. For horse and greyhound racing, you must place a bet of at least £1 on the race you wish to watch.

Streams are generally of very good quality and load flawlessly on desktop, mobile and tablet devices with a reasonable internet connection.

Customer Service

Customers can contact the Coral customer support team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via a variety of channels. You can contact support via email, telephone live chat and even via Twitter. Twitter has become a popular way for betting companies to connect with their customers and many, including Coral, have increased staff numbers in this department to cater for these requests. Our preferred method of contact is still live chat as you are usually connected to a representative within a minute and they have proven to be helpful and knowledgeable.

There is also the option to visit the Coral Help section which contains answers to the most frequently asked questions and can be useful should you think that you have a question which has been asked many times previously.

Coral App

The Coral App is available on both Android and iOS devices and can be used on mobile phones and tablets. Everything that is available on the desktop website is included in the app, meaning you can bet on a huge range of sports and markets within seconds of unlocking your phone.

Corals online casino and games sections can also be accessed via the app which is a positive, as some bookmakers require you to download a separate app for gaming. You’ll have access to hundreds of online slots, table games and even live casino games all within the app.

As well as placing bets on both sports and casino games, you can access other Coral features from within the app such as the ability to cash out your bets and view a range of live streams for over 2,000 sporting events each week.

The Website

The Coral website is extremely user-friendly with quick navigation between different sports accessible via the A-Z of sports in the sidebar. The website is generally pleasing on the eye and we like the large odds buttons which may also be appealing to those who are new with betting.

The various different sections of Coral such as the sportsbook, casino, bingo, poker and virtual sections can all be accessed via the nav menu at the top of the page. Navigation within each sport is also excellent with the events being broken down into the most popular leagues and competitions to make it easy to find what you’re looking for.

Overall, we have no complaints with the Coral desktop or mobile website and consider it one of the better ones available out of the top bookies.

Customers at Coral not only have the option to cash out their bets but also to partially cash out their bets. The cash out feature allows you to choose to settle your bet early before the event has finished. The cash out amount which you are offered will depend on a number of factors such as your original stake, the original odds and the odds at the time of cashing out. The partial cash out feature allows you to cash out a chosen amount and leave the remainder on your bet to run. You can cash out your bets by viewing your live bets and cliking on the cash out button next to the bet you wish to cash out.

Online Casino

The Coral casino is host to almost 100 slots games from a variety of gaming providers such as Playtech as well as a number of variations of popular classics such as blackjack and roulette. The overall number of games at Coral casino isn’t anywhere near that of some other bookmakers which offer casino games but there should be enough to keep the casual player happy. Overall at the time of writing this review, there are 110 games available in the casino with the majority of those consisting of online slots.’

Perhaps the main focus with gaming at Coral should be on their Live Casino which is excellent. There are an impressive 98 live casino games available which consist of a number of blackjack and roulette tables with varying minimum stakes, as well as other live games such as baccarat, stud poker, casino hold’em, 3 card brag and Spin A Win.

Session Limits: Similar to game play reminders, session limits will notify you when you have been logged into your account for a set amount of time.

Coral have been around for over 90 years and so it’s no surprise that they’ve developed into one of the leading online bookmakers. Overall, we can’t find much to fault them on. A great website, good customer service, an excellent choice of sports and markets to bet on, regular promotions such as Best Odds Guaranteed & ACCA Insurance, and an impressive live casino are just a few reasons to create an account.

Another reason would be to claim the Coral welcome offer for new customers for which you’ll find details in the box below. Click the button to register an account with Coral today or leave a review if you have done so already and wish to give your opinion.

Corals have always been alright for me with mobile betting but havent tried the cash out as yet.

Not one Of The Best

We have tested Coral for many years over at The Best Bookies consumer group and they have never been one of the better performers. There will always be people complaining for various reasons, and it's only when you test them thoroughly for yourself that you truly appreciate that a good deal of the criticism is justified. They are not the worst bookie out there, at least they aren't a full on scam. But they are a long way from being the best.

early days but not good so far

I wish I had read these reviews before I joined! Mainly I signed up for Coral because their free bet was perfect for a little strategy I had. It worked and then when I had money in my account they obviously did not want to pay out and made it as hard as they possibly could. I moved on and joined Sky Bet instead and it is 100x better. I will never go back to Coral now.

A good solid online bookmaker with a lot of offers and loyalty bonuses. I have accounts with most of the online betting sites but there are only 5 that I use regularly and Coral is one of them.

For me corals are ok but they could do more for their customers like improve the app. The offers are good and the odds are pretty much average so nothing against them just not sure they stand out from the crowd as much as they could do.

Utter Joke

Those people awarding Coral more than one star I assume you have never had to use their support. I was literally speechless at their incompetence. I was better off before I had to contact them because at least my blood pressure was lower. One star is too much for these complete and total morons. I will never, ever bet with Coral again and I bitterly regret having ever joined them.

refuse to answer queries, then misinform

couldnt leave a 0 star. suspended my account and refused to give me a reason, just demanding my info, refused that for their attitude. ended up having to email ceo to get anything done, (twice). refused to answer if i was hacked or not. suddenly told it was an age check thing. then when i finally got unsuspended, found out i had been hacked, money was refunded at no time was i ever told about the hack, or even acknowledge me after i saw history incompetent, liars, any company where you have to contact ceo is not worth using

Tried to place a single bet on line account. Their computer did not accept it. Tried a further 4 times still no response. Gave up. Balance was still the same after 5 attempts taking 7 minites. Logged off. Watched TV and logged on again for the last race. The Corals computer had accepted all 5 bets 4 more than I meant to place. Don in customer services was useless. Watch this bookmsaker making money with slow acceptance of bets encouraging punters to bet again and again. Do not plave the bet again if their computer is slow or non responsive. Awful customer service.
