The Lusail Iconic Stadium, the largest stadium in Qatar, is the venue of the Group C match between Argentina and Mexico on Saturday 26th November.
This has the potential to be a great match and one that is hugely important to both teams.
Although Argentina are expected to finish top of the group, Mexico and Poland deserve respect and the two-time World Cup winners will need to be at their best to secure three points against them both.
Argentina were priced pre-tournament at 10/1 to go all the way this year and with players such as Lionel Messi, Paulo Dybala, Angel Di Maria and Lautaro Martínez at their disposal, it’s not difficult to see why.

Mexico were relatively solid defensively during qualification for the World Cup, conceding just eight goals in fourteen games. However, they weren’t up against an Argentinian squad full of world-class players and I’d be surprised if they’re able to keep a clean sheet in their second match of the tournament.
Argentina’s back line also proved to be tough to break down as they too conceded just eight in seventeen qualification games. What is slightly surprising is that they haven’t been the most prolific of goalscorers and only managed to net more than two in a game against Venezuela, Bolivia and Uruguay.
However, Argentina remained unbeaten throughout their qualifying campaign and managed to hold table-toppers Brazil to a 0-0 draw. I expect them to have enough quality to pick up three points from this game but I’m not expecting a flurry of goals. Odds of 2/9 for Under 3.5 goals and even 4/6 for Under 2.5 really aren’t that appealing to me though and so I’d rather look at other markets for a bit more value.
Argentina to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 looks a good bet to me with SkyBet who are offering odds of 13/8.
