WhichBookie racing analyst Andrew Blair White provides a preview and betting tips for races at Fairyhouse on Wednesday 7th July.
Possibly the biggest game in the group stages of the 2022 World Cup takes place on Sunday 27th November when Spain take on Germany in Group E.
This fixture wouldn’t be out of place in the final of the tournament and so it’s great to see two top teams go head-to-head so early on in the competition.
Both sides have a chance to go all the way this year but if they are to meet again, they must both qualify from their group which they are expected to do. However, there is a lot to play for in this match as the outcome will likely determine which of the two finishes top, thus getting a more favourable opponent in the next round.
These two sides last met in the UEFA Nations League back in 2020 when Spain dominated the match and won by a comfortable 6-0 score. Of course, Germany have improved significantly over the past couple of years and not many will be expecting a similar result. However, this game could go either way and it should be a great game to watch.

Both Spain and Germany have several players who are capable in front of goal and I’d expect a game with a number of chances at both ends of the pitch. Both teams to score is priced at 8/11 which although not hugely appealing, is good enough for me to back.
If I was to pick a winner, I’d ever so slightly side with Spain but I think a more sensible bet is on a score draw which would suit both sides if they’re able to win their other two group games. Odds of 10/3 for a draw & BTTS are available with SkyBet.
