The Premier League is back after the break, and we’ve got a tasty lunchtime kick-off at the Emirates. Arsenal, still licking their wounds from a narrow defeat to Liverpool, welcome Nottingham Forest to North London. Both sides dropped points last time out, so this is about who responds better.
So, who gets back on track? Let’s dive in.
Arsenal’s injury list is looking rough. Bukayo Saka won’t return until later this month. Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz remain long-term absentees, and William Saliba is a big doubt after hobbling off against Liverpool. Ben White and Christian Nørgaard are being monitored too, while Leandro Trossard could feature if he shakes off a knock. The good news? Mikel Arteta can still call on Martinelli, Gyökeres, and Rice, which is a strong enough spine to dominate most games.
Forest aren’t in bad shape compared to the Gunners. Nicolas Domínguez is the only confirmed long-term absentee. Nicolò Savona and Cuiabano have slight issues, but Steve Cooper should have most of his first-choice side ready to go. That gives him options to set up deep and try to frustrate Arsenal.
Likely Lineups
Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba (if fit), Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Merino, Zubimendi; Martinelli, Gyökeres, Madueke.
Nottingham Forest (4-2-3-1): Sels; Aina, Murillo, Milenković, Williams; Sangaré, Anderson; Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, Ndoye; Wood.
This fixture looks like it has goals written all over it. Arsenal have scored at least twice in five of their last six home games against Forest, and the last five meetings at the Emirates all saw three or more goals.
Forest, though, aren’t pushovers. They’ve scored in five of their last seven away league matches, and with Gibbs-White pulling strings and Chris Wood lurking up top, they’ll fancy nicking one on the break.
Angles worth considering:
Arsenal will control the ball, keep Forest pinned back, and create wave after wave of chances. The only real question is how long it takes for them to break the deadlock. Forest will sit deep and wait for counters, but against a side that loves dominating at home, that’s risky.
Match Prediction: Arsenal to win. Bet with bet365.
I’m leaning towards a repeat of what we’ve seen before: plenty of Arsenal goals with Forest sneaking one.
Correct Score Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Nottingham Forest. Bet with bet365.
The numbers are clear. Arsenal’s last five home wins over Forest all saw three or more goals. Forest have scored in every league match this season except one.
Safe play? Over 2.5 goals.
Fancy a bigger price? Over 3.5 goals feels alive too.
Over/Under Prediction: Over 3.5 Goals. Bet with bet365.
Here’s one I like for Saturday lunchtime:
That’s the combo for a lively game with goals at both ends.
Bet Builder Tip: Arsenal to Win, BTTS Yes, Martinelli Anytime Scorer & Over 2.5 Goals. Bet with bet365.

Arsenal are heavy favourites at home, and history backs them to get the job done.
It’s on Saturday, 13 September 2025 at 12:30 BST, live from the Emirates.
Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Havertz are out. Saliba, White, and Trossard are doubts.
They’ve won three of the last five meetings, with Forest failing to win in North London since 1989.
