Well, here we go again. It’s another night of World Cup Qualifiers in Europe, and this one should be lively. The Netherlands are back at home, full of confidence after a strong start to their qualifying campaign. Finland, meanwhile, are trying to bounce back after a rough defeat to Poland.
So, can the Dutch keep flying, or will Finland pull off an upset in Amsterdam? Let’s take a closer look.
The Netherlands are looking sharp. Ronald Koeman’s side are unbeaten in their last six, with four wins and two draws. Their 3-2 win over Lithuania last time out showed exactly what they’re about — control, pace, and plenty of goals.
Memphis Depay is the main man again. He’s scored four in his last three games for the national team and looks unstoppable when he’s in this mood. Cody Gakpo and Donyell Malen are both pushing to start, while Quinten Timber, who scored last match, should keep his spot in midfield.
The Dutch do have a few niggles, though. Nathan Aké missed training earlier in the week but is expected to be fit. Virgil van Dijk returns after suspension, which is huge for their backline.
Possible Netherlands lineup:
Verbruggen; Dumfries, Van Dijk, De Ligt, Ake; Frenkie de Jong, Reijnders, Timber; Gakpo, Depay, Malen.
Finland’s camp is a bit more complicated. They were beaten 3-1 by Poland in their last outing, and their defensive issues showed again. Glen Kamara is still struggling for form, while veteran striker Teemu Pukki is expected to start despite being short on minutes.
Benjamin Källman, who scored in the 88th minute against Poland, might get a run-out again. The Finns will likely sit deep and look for counterattacks.
Their backline is where the worries are. They’ve conceded nine goals in their last six matches, and keeping Depay quiet is no easy task.
Possible Finland lineup:
Hradecky; Alho, Ivanov, O’Shaughnessy, Uronen; Kamara, Schüller; Pukki, Lod, Antman; Källman.
Here’s what I think… goals are coming. The Netherlands have been scoring for fun lately, and their attack looks ruthless. They’ve hit 19 goals in their last six games, and playing at home will only boost their confidence.
Finland, on the other hand, haven’t kept a clean sheet in five of their last six matches. Their defence just can’t seem to hold up under pressure.
So, betting angles worth checking out:
If you want a safer play, you could go with Netherlands to win to nil. They’re expected to dominate possession and territory from the first whistle.
This one feels pretty straightforward. The Netherlands are too strong at home, too quick in attack, and too composed in midfield. Finland will fight, but it’s hard to see them coping for 90 minutes.
Expect Koeman’s men to press early, get the first goal inside 30 minutes, and then control the game. Finland might get a half-chance or two, but unless Pukki finds some old magic, they’re not scoring.
Match Prediction: Netherlands to win. Bet with bet365.
I’m leaning towards a 3-0 Netherlands win. It’s the kind of scoreline that matches how these two teams are playing right now — the Dutch score plenty, Finland leak plenty.
Depay will likely get one, Gakpo could add another, and maybe a defender chips in late on.
Correct Score Prediction: Netherlands 3-0 Finland. Bet with bet365.
The numbers say it all. The Netherlands’ last five home matches have all gone over 2.5 goals, and Finland’s defence has been wide open lately. Over 2.5 goals looks solid, but if you fancy a bit more risk, over 3.5 has good value.
Over/Under Prediction: Over 3.5 Goals. Bet with bet365.
Here’s a Netherlands vs Finland Bet Builder combo I like:
That’s your “Dutch domination” special — it fits exactly how this match should go.
Bet Builder Tip: Netherlands to Win, Over 2.5 Goals, Depay Anytime Scorer. Bet with bet365.

The Netherlands are expected to win. Their form, quality, and home advantage make them clear favourites.
Most likely 3-0 to the Netherlands. They’re scoring freely and should control the game.
The game takes place at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.
Memphis Depay for the Netherlands – he’s on fire. For Finland, Teemu Pukki remains their biggest threat.
