Denmark are back home looking to keep their World Cup qualifying charge rolling. They’re fresh off a 6-0 thrashing of Belarus and a 3-0 win over Greece in the reverse fixture. Safe to say, confidence is sky-high.
Greece, meanwhile, come into this one still feeling that sting from their last meeting with the Danes. They’ve got pride to play for now — and maybe a bit of revenge on their minds. But can they actually stop this red-hot Danish side at Parken? Let’s take a look.
Denmark are flying. Brian Riemer’s team is scoring for fun and barely putting a foot wrong. And just when you thought they couldn’t get any stronger, Christian Eriksen is back. He’ll slot in behind Rasmus Højlund, who’s been in electric form for Napoli and can’t seem to stop scoring.
They dominated Belarus with 77% possession, 24 shots, and six goals. That’s a training-session level of control. Damsgaard, Dreyer, and Dorgu all got in on the act, and the chemistry in this squad looks spot on. Expect the usual 4-2-3-1 setup, with Skov Olsen and Damsgaard providing width and Eriksen pulling the strings in the middle.
Greece have a few headaches. The loss to Scotland hurt — not just the scoreline, but the way they were opened up on the counter. Kostas Tsimikas remains their key man, bombing down the left flank, while Bakasetas and Pavlidis are the main goal threats.
Ivan Jovanovic will probably stick with his tried-and-tested shape, hoping to keep things tight and hit on the break. Confidence isn’t exactly booming right now, but this team has enough talent to make it tricky for a few minutes at least.
Denmark (4-2-3-1): Schmeichel; Kristensen, Andersen, Christensen, Maehle; Højbjerg, Hjulmand; Skov Olsen, Eriksen, Damsgaard; Højlund.
Greece (4-2-3-1): Vlachodimos; Vagiannidis, Mavropanos, Koulierakis, Tsimikas; Kourbelis, Zafeiris; Tzolis, Bakasetas, Masouras; Pavlidis.
Denmark are just too good right now. They’ve scored 13 goals in their last six qualifiers and conceded only twice. At home, they look ruthless — pressing high, moving the ball fast, and finishing everything.
Greece can score, no doubt. They’ve been involved in five straight games with three or more goals, but their defense leaks far too easily. If they open up too soon, Denmark will punish them again.
Some betting angles worth a look:
So, expect action. This one feels like goals from start to finish.
Denmark will dominate the ball, push Greece back, and create plenty of chances. Greece might look dangerous on a set piece or counterattack, but over 90 minutes, Denmark’s structure and depth should see them through.
The Danes are playing confident, controlled football. With Eriksen back to dictate tempo and Højlund in full beast mode, it’s hard to see anything but another home win.
Match Prediction: Denmark to win. Bet with bet365.
I’m leaning towards a 3-1 Denmark win. They’ve got the firepower to put Greece under pressure early, but the visitors could sneak one from a set piece.
Correct Score Prediction: Denmark 3-1 Greece. Bet with bet365.
If you’re into totals, this one’s screaming goals. Denmark’s last three home games have produced ten goals in total, and Greece have seen plenty of open matches lately. Over 2.5 goals feels like the safe pick, but over 3.5 has real value here.
Over/Under Prediction: Over 3.5 Goals. Bet with bet365.
