Whether you're looking to check the Ayr racing results from this afternoon or weighing up tomorrow’s card, this page brings everything together.
Ayr is Scotland’s premier racecourse and home to two of the country’s biggest races, the Scottish Grand National in April and the Ayr Gold Cup in September. It stages both Flat and jumps racing, so there’s action going on at the Ayrshire coast for the majority of the year.
Horse racing at Ayr today appears in the feed above, updating automatically with the latest going and the current odds.
The Flat season ends on October 8 and the jumpers take over for the rest of the season:

While we don’t currently have daily Ayr racing tips, here are a few features of races at the track which are worth knowing:
The Flat course is a left-handed oval of 12 furlongs, with a run-in of about half a mile. The ground is mostly level, with some gentle undulations in the flat. The bends are well graded, so it’s seen as one of the fairest tests in Britain. A separate straight course looks after sprints of up to 6 furlongs.
The jumps course has a similar left-handed line inside the flat track. It’s flat and galloping, so horses that are good jumpers and can keep going through the soft ground are at an advantage.
The draw doesn’t matter much on the round course as the long run in gives every horse a good chance of finding clear passage. Ayr's straight course is different, as in big fields it tends to be the side that’s racing the quickest that will be advantageous.
The side where this is the case often varies by meetings, and even on the same afternoon. The going tends to be soft due to the coastal location of the track.
Two festivals stand out during the year. There’s the Scottish Grand National Festival that takes place in April. Its main event is the Scottish Grand National, which is a handicap chase over nearly four miles that has taken place at Ayr since 1966 and often attracts 20,000+ people.
The Ayr Gold Cup Festival is a three-day meeting in September. The Ayr Gold Cup is a very competitive 6-furlong handicap sprint. It first took place in 1804 and is one of Britain’s oldest heritage handicaps.
The Saturday card also features the Firth of Clyde Stakes, which is Scotland’s only Group race. There’s also the Listed Doonside Cup and the Bronze Cup, the latter which gives sprinters a special race on the Friday.
Racing in Ayr dates back to 1576, but the first official meeting wasn’t until 1771 on a tight one-mile oval in the town’s Seafield area. The current course at Whitletts Road opened in 1907 and has been the home to flat and jumps racing since then.
The racecourse is located at 2 Whitletts Road, Ayr, KA8 0JE, which is on the north east side of town. It’s less than an hour by road from Glasgow, and there are regular trains from major hubs to Ayr.
People can buy tickets and hospitality packages through the racecourse’s website.
Wondering what channel Ayr racing is on today? Every race is shown live on Racing TV, and the Scottish Grand National and Ayr Gold Cup are also broadcast free-to-air on ITV Racing. Many bookmakers stream Ayr races to customers who have a funded account or a bet on the race, and full race replays usually follow shortly after.
It pays to be choosy about where you bet. Best odds guaranteed is a must on Ayr's competitive handicaps, as it settles your winning bet at the starting price if the SP ends up bigger than the price you took.
Look out for bookies paying extra places on the Gold Cup and the Scottish Grand National too, as these races regularly attract 20 or more runners.

Results normally appear on this page within a few minutes of each race finishing, with the full placings, starting prices and winning connections.
Yes. The results feed keeps the most recent Ayr meeting on display until the next one gets underway.
All Ayr fixtures are shown live on Racing TV. The Scottish Grand National and Ayr Gold Cup also go out on ITV Racing.
Ayr's last Flat fixture of 2026 is on 8 October, followed by jumps meetings on 31 October, 11 November and 30 November. The fixtures table above has the full list.
It does both. Ayr is one of the few British tracks to stage a major Flat festival and a major jumps festival, with the Flat season running from spring to early October and jumps racing through the autumn, winter and early spring.
The Scottish Grand National in April and the Ayr Gold Cup in September. The Firth of Clyde Stakes, run on Gold Cup day, is the only Group race in Scotland.
At 2 Whitletts Road, Ayr, KA8 0JE, less than an hour's drive south-west of Glasgow.
Ayr gets more than its fair share of Atlantic weather sitting on the west coast of Scotland, which means the turf reacts to the unfolding conditions. Autumn and winter meetings tend to be on soft or heavy ground.
Frost and waterlogging are the big threats to winter fixtures, which is why early morning inspections are important for punters looking to have a flutter on the action.
