This page has today's Leicester race card, live Leicester racing results, the full 2026 fixture list and our Leicester racing tips, along with a complete guide to the dual-purpose track at Oadby.
The course lies about three miles south-east of the city centre and has staged racing on its present site since 1883. It races on 29 days a year, with Flat racing from spring to autumn and jumps racing through the winter.
Both courses are right-handed, with a stiff uphill finish, and the Flat maidens here regularly attract smart two-year-olds from Newmarket and Yorkshire yards. Golden Miller won his first race here, and Sir Gordon Richards rode his first winner here.
The Leicester race card today shows every runner and rider, recent form, weights, the latest odds and race times, plus the draw on Flat days. It updates from final declarations right up to the off, so non-runners, jockey changes and going updates appear as soon as they're announced. Tomorrow's Leicester race card is added once declarations close.
Leicester racing results are added as each race is settled, with winners, starting prices and payouts. Results from earlier meetings, including yesterday's, stay on the page so you can check course form.

If you're looking for Leicester racing tips for today, here are some general tips to keep in mind for the track:
Leicester is a dual-purpose course, and both the Flat and jumps tracks are right-handed. The finish is uphill on both, which makes Leicester more of a test of stamina than many tracks of a similar size.
The Flat course is an oval of about a mile and five furlongs, with a seven-furlong straight that joins the round course about four and a half furlongs from home. Races up to seven furlongs use the straight, which runs downhill to halfway and then climbs for over two furlongs before levelling out near the finish.
The chase course is also about a mile and five furlongs round, rather undulating, with ten fences and an uphill run of around three furlongs to the finish. Since 2009/10, there have been four fences in the home straight. The fences have been made a little easier in recent years, but Mick Fitzgerald notes that the second fence in the back straight can still catch horses out. The hurdles course uses the Flat track.
There isn't a strong overall draw bias at Leicester, but the ground matters. On soft or heavy ground, horses drawn near the stands' rail have long had an advantage in the straight-course races.
The course is watered in summer to keep the ground safe, so the Flat course can still ride on the slow side. In winter, the hurdles course, which is on the Flat track, can be extremely testing, while the chase course often rides a little quicker. Winter weather can cause abandonments, and two meetings were lost in January 2026.
Leicester's Ladies Day, sponsored by Smooth Radio, is one of the busiest days of the year at the course. In 2026, it was held on Saturday 4 July, with a full card of Flat racing and live music after racing. Leicester also holds a Fireworks Festival in November and a post-Christmas jumps meeting on 28 December.
On the Flat, the King Richard III Stakes in late April is Leicester's best-known race, a seven-furlong contest named after the king who was buried in the city.
Over jumps, the highlight is the Leicestershire Silver Fox Handicap Chase in December, over two and a half miles, and the Golden Miller Handicap Hurdle honours the famous chaser who won his first race here in 1931.
Teeton Mill won a hunter chase at Leicester in 1998 before going on to win the Hennessy Gold Cup and the King George VI Chase.
The earliest record of racing in Leicester dates from 1603, at Abbey Meadow. Racing later moved to St Mary's Field and then to Victoria Park, where the Leicester Gold Cup was first run in 1807. The first meeting at the present Oadby site was held on 24 July 1883.
In the late 19th century, Leicester staged some of the richest races in Britain. In 1889, the Prince of Wales Stakes and the Portland Stakes offered more prize money than any of the Classics.
Gordon Richards rode his first winner here in 1921, and Golden Miller, who went on to win five Gold Cups and the Grand National, won his first race here in 1931. Leicester was also the scene of the famous Flockton Grey ringer case.
Richard Fahey (62 winners) and Mark Johnston (58) lead the Flat trainers at Leicester, with Sir Michael Stoute's 25% strike rate the best of the leading yards. Over jumps, Nigel Twiston-Davies leads with 36 winners, ahead of Venetia Williams (34), Olly Murphy (31), Dan Skelton (27) and David Pipe (27).
Here are the leading jockeys:
