This page has today's Wetherby race card, live Wetherby racing results, the 2026 fixtures and our Wetherby racing tips, along with a full guide to West Yorkshire's premier jumps track.
The course sits beside the A1(M), between Leeds, York and Harrogate, and it's sometimes nicknamed "the A1 racecourse". It's a left-handed, galloping track, best known for jumps racing, with the Grade 2 Charlie Hall Chase in the autumn and the Boxing Day meeting among the highlights of the northern season.
Since 2015, it has also staged a handful of Flat fixtures each spring and summer, so it now races in most months of the year.
The Wetherby race card today shows every runner and rider, recent form, weights, the latest odds and race times. It updates from final declarations right up to the off, so non-runners, jockey changes and going updates appear as soon as they're announced. Tomorrow's Wetherby race card is added once declarations close.
Wetherby racing results are added as each race is settled, with winners, starting prices and payouts. If there's an inspection or racing is abandoned because of frost or waterlogging, you'll see the latest update here.

If you're looking for Wetherby racing tips for today, here are some general tips to keep in mind for the track:
The Wetherby race course is a left-handed, galloping track. The chase course is just under a mile and a half round, with nine fences, including two open ditches on the back straight.
Four of the fences in the home straight were moved to the inside of the hurdles track after the nearby A1 was realigned. The hurdles course has six flights per circuit and a home straight of about half a mile.
Flat racing was introduced in 2015, and the first Flat fixture was on 26 April that year. The Flat course shares the hurdles track and is about a mile and a half round.
There's no straight sprint course, so even the shortest races are run round a bend, and 5½-furlong races start from a chute near the end of the back straight. Speed has been an advantage on the Flat so far.
A handy position is a big help at Wetherby. The jumps course has a reputation for being sharper than its size suggests, and horses held up too far back can struggle to make up ground in the straight. On the Flat, the lack of a straight course means a good early position matters even more.
The going varies a lot through the year. At the start of the jumps season in October, it can be good to firm, while midwinter meetings can be soft or heavy.
Winter weather is the biggest threat to the January and February fixtures, and three of them were lost in 2026. When the weather turns, the course often holds an early inspection, so check here on the morning of racing.
The Grade 2 Charlie Hall Chase is Wetherby's most famous race, and it's usually the first top-class three-mile chase of the jumps season. It's run on the Saturday of the two-day meeting in late October or early November, and in 2026 it's on Saturday 31 October.
Past winners include Wayward Lad, Burrough Hill Lad, One Man and See More Business. In 2025, it went to Djelo (11/4) for Venetia Williams and Charlie Deutsch, earning £56,950 for the winner.
The Christmas meeting is the biggest of the year at Wetherby, and Boxing Day is the busiest day. The feature race is the Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase, a valuable three-mile handicap. In 2025, it went to Konfusion, the 8/11 favourite, for Joanne Parkinson & Sam Smith and jockey Callum Bewley.
The Christmas meeting also features the Castleford Chase. Some enclosures can sell out on busy days, so it's best to book in advance. The Park and View enclosure is also open at the Christmas meeting.
Racing in Wetherby first took place at Scaur Bank, now the King George V playing fields, before moving to the present York Road site at Easter 1891. A race company took over in 1920 and bought the freehold in 1953. A railway station served the course from 1924 to 1959.
The stands have been developed in stages, from terraces in the 1930s to the Millennium Stand, which opened in 1999. Wetherby was the last Yorkshire course to stage only jumps racing, until Flat racing arrived in 2015.
Here are the leading trainers at Wetherby over the last three years:
Over jumps, Harry Skelton has 10 hurdle winners at 34%, Jamie Hamilton also has 10, and Sean Bowen strikes at 30% in chases. On the Flat, Oliver Orr has ridden 10 winners from 21 rides.
Wetherby Racecourse is on York Road, Wetherby LS22 5EJ, right beside the A1(M) and between Leeds, York and Harrogate, with easy links to the M1 and M62. Parking is free, on grass. Wetherby has no railway station, but a free shuttle bus runs from the town centre on feature race days.
There are three main enclosures: Premier, Paddock and, on selected days, Park and View, where one car and up to five adults can watch from beside the track with a picnic.
Under-18s go free with an adult in the general enclosures. There's no formal dress code: smart-casual is suggested, and it's worth dressing for the weather. Dogs aren't allowed in the enclosures on race days, except assistance dogs.
Wetherby racing is shown live on Racing TV. Most UK bookmakers also offer free live streaming of Wetherby races to customers who have a funded account or have placed a bet on the race. Results and replays are available after each race.
Wetherby's big handicaps, especially at the Charlie Hall meeting and over Christmas, attract strong fields and plenty of betting interest.
Best Odds Guaranteed means you get the starting price if it's bigger than the price you took. Extra places are common on the Rowland Meyrick and other feature handicaps. Compare the latest offers from UK bookmakers before you bet.
The jumps season starts on Wednesday 14 October 2026, followed by the two-day Charlie Hall meeting on 30–31 October.
