Champions League nights are back, and this one feels a little special. Bodo/Glimt – making their debut in the league phase – welcome Tottenham all the way up in northern Norway. It’s a proper clash of football worlds: a tiny 8,270-seater stadium, Arctic conditions, and one of the Premier League’s heavyweights rolling into town.
Tottenham, of course, have history in this competition. They were finalists back in 2019 and arrive as favourites here. But let’s be honest – Bodo aren’t going to care. This is the biggest night in their club’s history, and they’ll throw everything at it. So, will Spurs’ quality shine, or can Bodo make this a night to remember? Let’s dig in.
Tottenham have a few issues to deal with. Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski, and James Maddison are all sidelined with injuries. That takes away a lot of creativity, but there’s a boost too: Yves Bissouma and Dominic Solanke are expected to return. Ange Postecoglou will lean on Heung-min Son and Richarlison to provide the goals, with Solanke offering a physical edge up top.
Bodo have concerns of their own. Brede Moe, Fredrik Bjørkan, Ole Didrik Blomberg, Kasper Høgh, and Isak Määttä are all doubts. That sounds like a headache, but there’s relief with Ulrik Saltnes and Ola Brynhildsen likely back in contention. Manager Kjetil Knutsen will know he needs his leaders on the pitch to even stand a chance here.
Bodo/Glimt: Haikin; Wembangomo, Moe, Lode, Bjørkan; Saltnes, Hagen, Vetlesen; Brynhildsen, Pellegrino, Espejord
Tottenham: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bissouma, Bentancur; Johnson, Son, Richarlison; Solanke
Spurs are favourites, but you can’t ignore the setting. That little stadium in Bodø, the artificial turf, the cold wind – it all plays into the home side’s hands. Tottenham have been here before though, and last season in the Europa League they handled it well, winning 2-0 in Norway before cruising through 5-1 on aggregate.
Betting angles worth a look:
I see Tottenham dominating possession, keeping Bodo pinned back, and eventually breaking them down. Bodo will have their moments – the crowd will demand it – but over 90 minutes, Spurs just have too much quality.
The one thing I’d watch? The weather. If it’s wet and heavy, Spurs might struggle to move the ball quickly. That’s where a scrappy 1-0 could come into play. Otherwise, expect something similar to last year’s Europa League tie.
Match Prediction: Tottenham to win. Bet with bet365.
I’m leaning towards another 2-0 Tottenham win. They did it here last season, and with their defence looking sharp, they’ll back themselves to shut Bodo out again. If the weather gets nasty, though, don’t be shocked if it ends 1-0 instead.
Correct Score Prediction: Bodo 0-2 Tottenham. Bet with bet365.
The stats point to a tight game. Tottenham conceded just one goal in their last three European away games last season, and Bodo failed to score against them home or away. Over 2.5 goals is tempting, but the conditions make me lean towards under.
Over/Under Prediction: Under 3.5 Goals. Bet with bet365.
Here’s a Bet Builder combo I like for this one:
That feels about right for how this game will play out – professional, efficient, and not too flashy from Spurs.
Bet Builder Tip: Tottenham to win, BTTS No, Richarlison anytime scorer, Under 3.5 goals. Bet with bet365.

It’s tough, but a surprise win here could give them a huge boost in the group.
