Well, here we go again — the Champions League nights are back, and this one should be a cracker. Tottenham head to the south of France to take on Monaco in a game that could shape both teams’ European campaigns.
Spurs are unbeaten in Europe so far and come into this one fresh off a 2–1 win over Leeds. Monaco? They’re still searching for their first European victory this season and desperately need a spark after a shaky start. The pressure’s on, and you can bet the Stade Louis II will be bouncing.
So, who’s taking control under the lights on Wednesday night? Let’s find out.
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Monaco. Injuries have piled up — Aleksandr Golovin, Vanderson, and Paul Pogba are all out. Their absence means Monaco are short of creativity and control in midfield.
Ansu Fati has been their brightest spark lately, linking up nicely with Maghnes Akliouche on the wings, while Folarin Balogun’s movement up front always causes problems. The problem? They just can’t seem to keep things tight at the back.
Adi Hütter’s side has already leaked six goals in two European games, and the defensive transitions are a real concern. Without Golovin pulling strings, Monaco rely heavily on quick counters and wide play — exciting, yes, but risky against a disciplined Tottenham team.
Tottenham are flying under Thomas Frank. They’ve got structure, energy, and belief again. Their midfield has been the heart of it all — João Palhinha sits deep and breaks everything up, while Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus provide the flair and creativity going forward.
There are still a few injury headaches: James Maddison, Radu Drăgușin, and Dominic Solanke are all sidelined. But even with key men out, Spurs look strong. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are forming a reliable centre-back pairing, while Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie stretch play from the flanks.
And here’s something you’ll love to hear if you’re a Spurs fan — Richarlison is scoring again. He’s finally rediscovered his confidence, and when he’s smiling, Tottenham look dangerous.

Here’s what I think… there are goals coming. Both sides love to attack, and both have defensive gaps. Monaco have scored in every Champions League match this season but haven’t kept a clean sheet. Tottenham look sharper going forward and more organised at the back, but they’re still missing some key names.
A few betting angles worth considering:
If you’re the cautious type, even a Tottenham draw no bet looks a good shout here.
Tottenham are likely to control the midfield through Palhinha and Simons, forcing Monaco to play on the break. The hosts will try to hit quickly through Fati and Diatta, but Spurs’ compact setup should limit clear chances.
You can imagine Monaco making a fast start, especially with the home crowd behind them, but over 90 minutes Tottenham’s organisation should tell. They’ve got more balance, more confidence, and a manager who’s got them believing again.
Match Prediction: Tottenham to win. Bet with bet365.
I’m leaning towards a 3–1 Tottenham win. Spurs have the firepower, but Monaco will probably sneak one through Balogun or Fati. Expect goals — and a proper Champions League spectacle.
Correct Score Prediction: Monaco 1–3 Tottenham. Bet with bet365.
If you’ve seen these two teams recently, you’ll know goals are almost guaranteed. Monaco’s last four matches have all gone over 2.5, and Tottenham haven’t failed to score in Europe this season.
So, the safest play?
Tip: Over 2.5 goals.
If you fancy a bigger return, Over 3.5 goals could also land — especially if Monaco score early and force Spurs to open up.
Over/Under Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals. Bet with bet365.
Here’s a fun bet builder combo I like for Wednesday night:
That’s your attacking football special — plenty of action, end-to-end energy, and a few goals to keep it lively.

Tottenham look stronger and more balanced — I’m backing them to edge it.
Prediction: Tottenham 3–1 Monaco.
Yes. Both teams should find the net.
Richarlison for Spurs, but Ansu Fati could nick one early for Monaco.
