This page has today's Hereford race card, live Hereford racing results, the full fixture list and our Hereford racing tips, along with a complete guide to one of Britain's oldest jumps tracks.
Racing has been held on the edge of the city since 1771, and after a four-year closure the course came back to life in 2016. It's a right-handed, almost square jumps track with a sharp, downhill home turn and a short run-in.
Leading trainers from Lambourn and the West Country use it to educate young horses, so the novice hurdles here often turn up future festival winners.
The Hereford race card today shows every runner and rider, recent form, weights, the latest odds and race times. It updates from final declarations right up to the off, so non-runners, jockey changes and going updates appear as soon as they're announced. Tomorrow's Hereford race card appears once declarations close.
Hereford racing results are added as each race is settled, with winners, starting prices and payouts. Results from earlier meetings stay available, so you can check course form before the next card.

If you're looking for Hereford racing tips for today, here are some general tips to keep in mind for the track:
The Hereford race course is a right-handed, almost square circuit of about a mile and a half. It stages jumps racing only: hurdles, chases and National Hunt Flat races. Three of the bends are easy, but the home turn is sharp and on falling ground, so horses run downhill into a relatively short home straight.
There are nine fences on the chase course, and the first after the winning post is jumped on the turn. Mick Fitzgerald notes that the last fence can be tricky. The run-in is short, but it can feel long to a tiring horse that's looking around, and the track appears to widen after the last, so horses sometimes drift.
The middle of the track is busy. There's a golf course, a cricket ground and, since 2019, a reservoir that lets the ground staff water the course without relying on a shared borehole.
There are no stalls in jumps racing, but position still matters at Hereford. Because the home turn is tight, horses that race close to the pace and on the inside tend to have an advantage. Hold-up horses have to make up ground on a downhill bend, which isn't easy.
The going varies with the time of year. Early-season meetings in October can be on good or good to firm ground, while midwinter cards can be very testing. Check the going report on the morning of racing, and look for horses with form on similar ground. Bad weather can also cause abandonments, so check here for any updates on the day.
Two themed days draw the biggest crowds at Hereford. Ladies Day takes place in early March, on 7 March in 2026, with racegoers dressing up for a full card of jumps racing as the spring festivals approach.
The Christmas Jumper Raceday, on Saturday 19 December 2026, is the most popular fixture of the winter. It has live music and a Christmas jumper competition, and racegoers dress up for the occasion. The course also runs a Halloween Family Raceday in October and a Festive Family Raceday after Christmas.
The first recorded race meeting at Hereford was in August 1771, which makes it one of the oldest courses still racing. The first hurdle race was held in 1840, and the course was modernised in the 1960s. In 1975 it set a record of 219 runners across 14 races in a single day.
Arena Racing Company stopped racing at Hereford in December 2012 after it failed to agree a new lease with Herefordshire Council, ending more than 240 years of racing. Point-to-points were held in the years that followed, and National Hunt racing returned on 6 October 2016.
Nicky Henderson's Rather Be won the first race back. Paul Nicholls trained his first winner here, Olveston, in 1991, and Richard Johnson rode his first winner at the course in 1994.
Here are the leading trainers at Hereford:
Sam Twiston-Davies leads the jockeys with 46 winners. Aidan Coleman (32 at 27%), Harry Skelton (31 at 28%) and Harry Cobden (26 at 26%) also have strong records.
Hereford Racecourse is on Roman Road, Hereford HR4 9QU, about two miles from the city centre. It sits on the A4103, just off the A49, and the Starting Gate roundabout is about 400 yards away. From the M50, allow about 30 minutes from junctions 2 or 3. Parking is free in two car parks, and you don't need to book.
Hereford railway station is about a 30-minute walk away, or a 5–10 minute taxi ride. The 74B bus from the station stops outside the course, and the 492 runs from the Maylord Shopping Centre to the Starting Gate pub, a short walk from the entrance.
Advance grandstand admission for the 2026 Season Opener was £24. Under-18s go free with a paying adult on most race days.
Hereford racing is shown live on Sky Sports Racing. Most UK bookmakers also offer free live streaming of Hereford races to customers who have a funded account or have placed a bet on the race. Race replays are available after each race.
Hereford's competitive handicap hurdles and chases are good races for bookmaker concessions. Best Odds Guaranteed means you get the starting price if it's bigger than the price you took. Extra place offers are also worth looking for on the bigger handicaps and the feature-day cards. Compare the latest offers from UK bookmakers before you bet.
Check the racecards above for today's meeting. The next fixture is the Halloween Family Raceday on Monday 26 October 2026.
Afternoon meetings usually start around 1pm to 1.45pm, and the gates open about two hours earlier. The exact off times are on the racecard.
The Christmas Jumper Raceday is on Saturday 19 December 2026.
Ladies Day is held in early March. It was on Saturday 7 March in 2026.
