Deal or No Deal Live

It’s likely that you’re familiar with the game Deal or No Deal. It was a popular TV show hosted by Noel Edmonds where players could win up to £500,000 by selecting one of 22 boxes containing different amounts.

In 2019, Evolution Gaming released an online version of Deal or No Deal which is now available to at numerous online casinos and bookmakers and players can win large sums of money in the games which take place every 2 minutes. The game works in a similar way except that there are only 16 numbers and briefcases are used instead of boxes.

In this guide, we’ll be taking a look at how Live Deal or No Deal works, Deal or No Deal rules and whether or not there is a recommended strategy to increase your chances of profiting from the game.

How Does Live Deal or No Deal Work?

Deal or No Deal is one of many live game show games which you can now bet on at online casinos. Other popular games which are hosted by real presenters include Dreamcatcher, Monopoly Live, Mega Ball, Lightning Roulette, Lightning Dice and many more.

Evolution Deal or No Deal games take place every 2 minutes and there are 3 stages to each game for players.

  1. Qualification
  2. Increasing the value of each of the 16 briefcases (optional)
  3. The Deal or No Deal game

Deal or No Deal Qualification

Before you can take part in a Deal or No Deal game, you must qualify. This is done by spinning a wheel which has 3 segments and all of the 3 segments must line up in order for you to progress to the game.

It costs each time you spin the wheel and in order to be in with the chance of winning any prize you must qualify. Therefore, it is important that you make a note of how much it costs you to qualify for the game as this is not recorded on the screen.

There are 3 options when spinning the qualification wheel which impact the likelihood of qualifying on each spin.

  1. Normal Mode – You must line up each of the 3 sections to qualify.
  2. Easy Mode – One of the sections is locked and so you only need to line up the remaining 2 sections. Choosing this option increases the cost of each spin 3x.
  3. Very Easy Mode – Two of the sections are locked and so you only need to line up the last remaining section. Choosing this option increases the cost of each spin 9x.

The image below shows the qualification wheel. As you can see the 3 gold sections are not lined up in the area at the top and so qualification remained locked.

The image below shows a successful qualification as the top section is filled with the 3 gold sections of the wheel.

When this happens, you can progress to the next stage and get ready to play the game.

Increasing The Value Of The Briefcases

Once you have qualified, you have the option of increasing the value of any, or all, of the 16 numbers. Each number will have a set value applied to it as shown in the table below but if you wish to increase the value of any of them, you can choose to do so.

Deal or No Deal Box Values
Briefcase 10.1 x your betBriefcase 98 x your bet
Briefcase 20.2 x your betBriefcase 1010 x your bet
Briefcase 30.5 x your betBriefcase 1112 x your bet
Briefcase 40.7 x your betBriefcase 1215 x your bet
Briefcase 51 x your betBriefcase 1320 x your bet
Briefcase 62 x your betBriefcase 1425 x your bet
Briefcase 73 x your betBriefcase 1550 x your bet
Briefcase 85 x your betBriefcase 1665 - 500 x your bet

To increase the value of any of the briefcases, click on a number and then spin the wheel. Whatever value the wheel lands on, this is the amount which will be added to the briefcase. You can increase your stake for each spin which in turn, increases the values on the wheel.

As live games take place every 2 minutes, you only have this time to both qualify and to top up the value of your briefcases. Once the 2 minutes is up, the main game will begin.

Playing Deal or No Deal Live

So, you’ve qualified and may have topped up the value of the briefcases. It’s now time to play the game and see what prize you have won.

With Deal or No Deal, you are always guaranteed a prize of some value. The value of your prize will depend on the value of the last briefcase or if you accept one of the bankers offers.

To begin with, the hosts assistant opens 3 briefcases. The numbers in those briefcases are then removed from the board. The banker then makes you an offer which you can accept or decline (‘Deal’ or ‘No Deal’). If many low-value numbers are removed, it’s likely that the bankers offer will be good. If many of the high-value numbers are removed, the bankers offer will be lower.

This process happens again with the assistant next opening 4 briefcases and the numbers within removed. Another bankers’ offer is presented which you can again, accept or decline.

This happens a third and a fourth time until there are just 2 briefcases left.

If you are still in the game at this point and have not accepted a bankers offer, you have 3 options.

  1. Accept the bankers final offer
  2. Receive the value of the number hosts briefcase (not yet disclosed)
  3. Swap to receive the value of the remaining number which isn’t in the hosts briefcase.

Whichever option you go for, you will receive a prize.

Once the game has ended, you will be directed back to the qualification screen to play again if you wish.

Live Deal or No Deal Strategy

Let’s start at the beginning as there are three stages to the game and for each you must make decisions.

First of all, should you select ‘Normal’, ‘Easy’ or ‘Very Easy’ mode when qualifying?

  • Each spin in Normal Mode costs 1x your bet
  • Each spin in Easy Mode costs 3x your bet
  • Each spin in Very East Mode costs 9x your bet

You have a better chance of qualifying as the modes progress but to compensate, each attempt costs more.

So, which is the best option?

In fact, all three options have the same probability when taking into account the stake sizes.

  • Normal Mode: Probability of qualifying = 1/18 (18 x your bet)
  • Easy Mode: Probability of qualifying = 1/6 (6 x your bet)
  • Very Easy Mode: Probability of qualifying = 1/2 (2 x your bet)

Therefore, if using a £1 basic stake, the average cost of qualifying for the main game would be £18 for all three options.

Deal or No Deal RTP

The RTP of Live Deal or No Deal is 95.42% as stated by Evolution Gaming. There is no way to alter the Return To Player in either direction by changing the qualification spin mode or by topping up your briefcases.

So should you increase the value of your briefcases?

As mentioned, doing this does not increase the RTP and so increasing the value of the briefcases simply means that you are giving yourself a greater chance to win bigger prizes. However, this comes at the cost of paying to do so.

Where Can You Play Deal or No Deal Online?

Several online bookmakers and casinos have Live Deal or No Deal available. However, not all of them do and even if a betting site offers Live Dealer games, there’s no guarantee that they will have Deal or No Deal.

One site which does have Deal or No Deal Live is 888Casino which is fully recommended by us. 888Casino hosts hundreds of casino games as well as an excellent selection of Live Dealer games including Evolution Deal or No Deal.

Live Deal or No Deal is an exciting and fun game to play. It’s a game of luck and unfortunately, there is no solid strategy to increase your chances of winning.

If you are looking for a short-term profit then you may wish to accept any of the bankers’ offers which are greater than the total amount staked. This is the low-variance approach.

If you are hoping for a big win, then you may wish to reject the majority of the offers until late in the game or play until the end and hope that the hosts briefcase contains a number with a high value. This is the high-variance approach.

You can play Deal or No Deal Live at many top bookmakers. We recommend 888Casino for Deal or No Deal as well as other live dealer games such as Lightning Roulette, Dream Catcher, Monopoly Live and others.
