Huntingdon hosts races in nine months of the year with the most prestigious being the Peterborough Chase which takes place in December. It is a Grade 2 National Hunt Chase that is run over 2 miles and 4 furlongs and features 16 fences to be jumped.
Trained by Henrietta Knight, Edredon Bleu has won the race the most times with four victories and was ridden by jockey Jim Culloty on three of those occasions.
Another popular race is the National Hunt Listed Sidney Banks Memorial Novices’ Hurdle which takes place in February along with Boxing Day meets which are loved by the locals who head to the course for a day full of fun, music and racing.
