This page has today's Doncaster race card, live Doncaster racing results, the 2026 fixtures and our Doncaster racing tips, along with a full guide to the home of the St Leger.
The course sits on Town Moor, just outside the town centre, and it's one of the most important racecourses in Britain. It stages the St Leger, the world's oldest Classic, first run in 1776, as well as the Lincoln, which opens the Flat season, and the November Handicap, which closes it.
2026 marked the 250th anniversary of the St Leger. Doncaster is a wide, galloping, left-handed track that races on the Flat from March to November and over jumps in the winter.
The Doncaster race card today shows every runner and rider, the draw on Flat days, recent form, the latest odds and race times. It updates from final declarations right up to the off, so non-runners, jockey changes and going updates appear as soon as they're announced. Tomorrow's Doncaster race card is added once declarations close.
Doncaster racing results are added as each race is settled, with winners, starting prices and payouts. Results from earlier meetings, including the St Leger Festival, stay on the page so you can check course form.

If you're looking for Doncaster racing tips for today, here are some general tips to keep in mind for the track:
The Doncaster race course is a left-handed, pear-shaped circuit of almost two miles. It's mostly flat, apart from a small rise over Rose Hill, with a sweeping turn about four and a half furlongs from home. A wide straight course is used for races from five furlongs to a mile, and some mile races start from a chute off the round course.
Over jumps, the track is also left-handed and essentially flat. It drains very well, so conditions often favour speedier horses. Mick Fitzgerald says horses that travel easily are best suited, and that the last ditch can test novice chasers.
Doncaster's straight course is wide, so the draw is less decisive than at sharper tracks. Where the pace is and which side of the track it's on can still make a difference, especially in big-field handicaps like the Lincoln and the Portland. On the round course, the long run-in gives horses time to find room.
Because the course drains freely, the going is usually good, and testing ground is rare. Check the going report on the morning of racing, especially for the jumps meetings in winter.
The St Leger is Britain's oldest Classic, run over about a mile and six and a half furlongs. It was first run in 1776 and named after Lieutenant Colonel Anthony St Leger two years later. In 2026, the 250th St Leger was won by Highwayman at 11/1 for Joseph O'Brien and Saffie Osborne.
The four-day Betfred St Leger Festival runs from Thursday to Sunday in mid-September. In 2026, it opened with Ladies Day on Thursday 10 September, followed by Doncaster Cup Day, St Leger Day on Saturday 12 September and Sunday Funday, a family day with children's entertainment and live music.
The festival also features the Doncaster Cup, the Champagne Stakes, the Flying Childers, the May Hill Stakes and the Portland Handicap. Book St Leger tickets early, especially for Ladies Day and St Leger Day.
The Lincoln Handicap, a big-field mile handicap first run at Doncaster in 1965, opens the Flat season in March. The Group 1 Futurity Trophy in late October is an important pointer to the following year's Classics, and the November Handicap closes the turf Flat season.
Over jumps, the Great Yorkshire Chase in January, first run in 1948, and the Grimthorpe Chase in late February are the main jumps races of the season.
Racing at Doncaster dates back to the 16th century. The first St Leger was run on Cantley Common in 1776, and racing moved to Town Moor in 1777, when a grandstand designed by John Carr was built. The Doncaster Cup is described as the oldest regulated horse race in the world.
In 1992, Doncaster staged the first Sunday race meeting on a British racecourse, in front of about 23,000 people. A £34 million redevelopment in 2006-07 replaced the old grandstand. The course is run by Arena Racing Company.
Here are the leading trainers at Doncaster:
William Buick leads the Flat jockeys with 102 winners, ahead of Andrea Atzeni (79) and Jamie Spencer (73). Over jumps, Brian Hughes leads with 56 winners.
Doncaster Racecourse is on Leger Way, Doncaster DN2 6BB, on Town Moor, just outside the town centre. Doncaster railway station is on the East Coast Main Line, with direct trains from London, Leeds, York and Edinburgh, and it's a short taxi ride from the course.
Ticket prices vary by meeting, and early booking is the cheapest option. In early 2026, tickets for the Great Yorkshire Chase weekend started from £21.50. Under-17s go free with a paying adult at many fixtures. For the St Leger Festival, many racegoers dress up, especially on Ladies Day and St Leger Day.
Doncaster racing is shown live on Sky Sports Racing, and ITV Racing covers the big meetings, including the St Leger Festival. Most UK bookmakers also offer free live streaming of Doncaster races to customers who have a funded account or have placed a bet on the race.
Doncaster stages some of the biggest betting races of the Flat season, including the Lincoln, the Portland and the November Handicap. Best Odds Guaranteed means you get the starting price if it's bigger than the price you took. Extra place offers are common on the big handicaps and the St Leger Festival. Compare the latest offers from UK bookmakers before you bet.
The next meeting is Futurity Trophy Weekend on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October 2026, followed by November Handicap Day on 7 November.
The St Leger is run on the Saturday of the St Leger Festival in mid-September. In 2026, the 250th running was on Saturday 12 September.
Highwayman won the 250th St Leger at 11/1, trained by Joseph O'Brien and ridden by Saffie Osborne.
Ladies Day is the opening day of the St Leger Festival. In 2026, it was on Thursday 10 September.
Yes. Doncaster stages jumps racing in the winter, including the Great Yorkshire Chase in January and the Grimthorpe Chase in February or March.
