Sandown Park is in Esher, Surrey, on the edge of south-west London and about 25 minutes by train from Waterloo. It stages top-class Flat and jumps racing.
The Coral-Eclipse is run there in July, and the winter jumps season includes the Tingle Creek in December and the Jump Finale in April. Its steep uphill finish is one of the best-known tests in British racing.
The Sandown race card today shows every runner and rider, the draw for Flat races, recent form, the latest odds and race times. It updates from final declarations right up to the off, so non-runners, going changes and any inspection news show as soon as they're announced. Sandown race results are added as each race is settled, and tomorrow's Sandown race card appears once declarations close.
The Flat season at Sandown has finished, and the jumps take centre stage for the rest of the year. Here are the remaining Sandown race meetings for 2026:

If you're looking for Sandown racing tips for today, here are some general tips to keep in mind for the track:
The Flat course at Sandown is a right-handed oval of about 13 furlongs. Its half-mile home straight climbs gradually all the way to the line, which makes it a real test of stamina at every trip. A separate five-furlong sprint course runs across the middle of the track and also rises steadily. On soft ground, riders sometimes come to the stands' side in the straight, and the field can end up spread across the track.
Over jumps, Sandown is a right-handed, galloping track. There are seven fences in the back straight, including the three close-together Railway fences, followed by the turn and the climb to the finish. Falls in the home straight are rare, but the run-in is demanding. In midwinter, the hurdles course can be even more testing than the chase track.
The draw matters most on the five-furlong course, where horses drawn close to the far rail have a big advantage. On the round course, the draw is less important than position and stamina, although in big fields a prominent position into the straight helps.
The going is usually good or good to firm for the summer Flat meetings, and the 2026 Eclipse was run on good to firm ground. The winter jumps meetings are often run on soft or heavy ground, and the uphill finish becomes a severe test of stamina. Sandown occasionally loses meetings to frost, so check for inspection news on cold days.
Sandown Park opened in 1875. That year, it became the first English racecourse to have a members' enclosure. On 24 January 1948, it hosted the world's first live televised horse race broadcast.
During the Second World War, the course was requisitioned by the War Department, and today it's owned by Jockey Club Racecourses. Sandown stages five Grade 1 jumps races each season, along with the Group 1 Eclipse.
Over the last three seasons, John & Thady Gosden have trained the most Flat winners at Sandown with 22, followed by Andrew Balding and Charlie Appleby on 14 each. Over jumps, Gary & Josh Moore lead the hurdles trainers with 12 winners, and Dan Skelton has trained the most chase winners.
Oisin Murphy is the leading Flat jockey at Sandown with 24 winners, ahead of William Buick on 19. Over jumps, Harry Skelton leads the chase riders, and Nico de Boinville has won with seven of his 13 chase rides. Harry Cobden has ridden the most hurdle winners. Source: At The Races.
