Everton have never been relegated from the Premier League and have featured in the top-flight every season since it was created in 1992.
The club went through a good spell under the management of David Moyes and achieved an average league finish of 8.25 during his 12 seasons in charge. However, their league finishes have been less impressive in recent years which has lead to several changes in management.
With the clubs future uncertain, so to is that of any manager who takes the reins.
We’ll be looking at the odds for the next Everton manager and the possible candidates for the role.
Sean Dyche is a retired English professional footballer who is currently the manager of Everton. He was born on June 28, 1971, in Kettering, England.
Dyche began his playing career as a centre-back for Nottingham Forest, where he made his debut in 1990. He later played for several other clubs, including Chesterfield, Bristol City, Luton Town, and Watford, before retiring in 2007.
After retiring from playing, Dyche moved into coaching and management. His first role was as the coach for Watford’s under-18 side before being promoted to assistant manager. He was then awarded the full manager role following the departure of Malky Mackay in 2011. In 2012, Dyche was appointed as the manager of Burnley where he spent the next nine and a half years of his career.
Under Dyche’s leadership, Burnley established themselves as a solid Premier League side, despite having a relatively modest budget compared to many of their rivals.
With eight games remaining of the 2021/22 season, Dyche was sacked, leaving Burnley in the relegation zone.
Dyche returned to management at the end of January 2023 when he was handed the reins at Everton after Frank Lampard was sacked.
Sean Dyche joined Everton in January 2023 on a two and a half year contract. However, Everton are battling it out towards the bottom of the league with several other teams this season and are far from safe.
Should Everton fail to pull themselves away from the relegation zone then Sean Dyche could join the Sack Race and be the next manager to go.
We’ve listed the potential candidates to be the next Everton manager if Sean Dyche is sacked.
