An unexpected turn of events has resulted in the majority of football matches worldwide being put on hold or cancelled. The lack of English top-level…
Unfortunately, and quite surprisingly, McBookie do not provide a welcome offer to new customers. This many put many potential customers off, especially those who don’t reside in Scotland, but there are a couple of regular McBookie promotions which are worth taking a look at and should appeal to those north of the border.
Some of the more popular McBookie betting offers include the Tartan Club, from which customers can receive a £5 free bet each week for placing £30 worth of bets throughout the week, and the ‘Coupon Buster’ offer which is McBookie’s version of Acca Insurance.

There are 28 different sports which are available to bet on at McBookie. The majority of the more established bookies offer between 30-35 and so there are slightly less than average. However, the sports which are missing are unlikely to be very popular and all of the most bet on sports such as football, horse racing, tennis, rugby, golf, cricket and basketball available. Customers at McBookie can also bet on a TV shows such as Love Island, Xfactor and others.
A full list of available sports can be seen below.
Although you won’t find as many betting markets available at McBookie compared to some of the bigger betting sites, there is an acceptable number. We compared the odds at McBookie to Bet365 for horse racing and found them to be almost identical which means they offer good value. For football, we found McBookie to offer slightly lower odds at times but not so much where they would put customers off.
One big attraction to McBookie over other bookmakers is their coverage of the Scottish football leagues and in particular, the lower Scotish leagues. At McBookie, not only can you bet on the Scottish Premiership, Championship, League 1 & 2, the Highland League and the Lowland League but you can also bet on the West, North and East Region Leagues. These are leagues which are not covered by the vast majority of bookmakers and so should a punter want to bet on football matches in these leagues, McBookie is the place to go.
In-play events can be found by clicking on the ‘In-Play’ link in the main nav menu. You’ll notice that the number of in-play events at McBookie doesn’t compare to some of the bigger bookmakers due to them not covering the range of leagues and competitions from around the world that others do. However, unless you’re wanting to bet in-play on Brazillian 2nd division matches, it’s likely you won’t have any issues.
After comparing in-play odds at McBookie to other bookmakers, we found them to be there or thereabouts. The majority were slightly lower but we did find a few which were higher. Overall, there were no huge differences in odds.
Unfortunately, there is no visual graphic of in-play events available at McBookie, nor are there in-play stats available. Whether this is an issue for you is a personal preference.
Not surprisingly, considering McBookie is a relatively small bookmaker, there is no live streaming available. We’re not expecting this to change in the near future but some streaming for horse racing and possibly lower Scottish League football would be a bonus.
Customer support at McBookie is available 24/7 via live chat. You can connect to a live support agent using the chat icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. There is also the option to contact the support team via email ([email protected]) or via their Twitter account which is very active. Upon testing response times for live chat and email support were excellent.
The Mcbookie app is available to download for free for both iOS and Android devices from the associated app stores.
With the McBookie app, you’ll be able to bet on all sports and markets which you can on the desktop site as well as view Scottish football results, including for non-league fixtures.
The app is well-designed, easy to navigate and a must for all customers of McBookie.
For those who do not wish to download the McBookie app, the McBookie website is fully responsive, meaning that it looks and works great on mobile devices. You’ll be able to access all sections of Mcbookie such as the sportsbook, casino and in-play areas.
There is no doubt that the McBookie website has a Scottish feel to it. The dark and navy blue colours and green highlights are similar to Scottish tartan colours and the logo includes a Scottish thistle along with a traditionally celtic font.
The layout of the site is simple with a long list of sports in the left sidebar, available promotions in the right sidebar and a list of upcoming and in-play events in the main section of the homepage.
Users can navigate to the sports and in-play section via the main nav menu as well as the McBookie casino which is home to over 250 different online games.
Overall, we really liked the McBookie website and found it easy to use, attractive and fast.
As mentioned, there are over 250 games available in the McBookie casino. There are over 380 online slots at McBookie as well as over 30 table games such as Blackjack and Roulette and a selection of instant win, video poker, virtual sport games and more.
Finding the casino game you’re looking for is easy due to the game categorisation. The game selection is reasonable but despite the large number of games, we would like to see more of the most popular slots available.
There isn’t a huge range of banking options available at McBookie but customers can deposit and withdraw using popular methods such as debit card, credit card, Neteller and Skrill.
See the table below for a full list of available banking options.
|Method||Min Deposit||Withdrawal Time|
|Debit Card||£10||2-7 Days|
|Credit card||£10||2-7 Days|
If you reside in Scotland and are interested in betting on Scottish football, then McBookie is without a doubt worth a look. They cover the Scottish East, West, South and North Region Leagues which are often overlooked by the bigger bookmakers but also offer betting markets across worldwide football and 30+ more sports.
For customers outside of Scotland and who do not wish to bet on lower-league Scottish football, we see little reason to register. There is no welcome offer currently available and users outside of Scotland are not eligible for McBookie promotions.
