ATP Stockholm is back at the Kungliga Tennishallen, and the indoor hard courts are ready for another competitive week of action. Day one throws up some genuinely interesting matchups, with Swedish home support, qualifying battles and a couple of clay courters trying to prove they can translate their games to this surface. Here are my predictions for every match on the schedule.
Ymer comes into this one on a wild card and will have the crowd firmly behind him from the first point. He knows this tournament well, having made the quarterfinals here last year, and that familiarity with the Kungliga Tennishallen should not be underestimated. The local support can genuinely lift a player in those tight moments, and Ymer will be feeding off every single point.
That said, Cerundolo is a serious obstacle right out of the gate. The Argentine has had a productive season and picked up a title in Bordeaux, which shows he is capable of winning matches when it matters. He also holds the only result between these two, beating Ymer in three sets at the Salzburg Challenger back in 2023. Ymer will make it scrappy and competitive, but Cerundolo’s baseline solidity and consistency throughout a match give him the edge here.
Prediction: Cerundolo in 3
Mannarino is one of those players who becomes genuinely awkward on indoor hard courts. The left-handed Frenchman hits the ball flat, takes time away from opponents and plays a style that disrupts the rhythm of anyone who likes to settle into comfortable baseline exchanges. His 2026 season has been a bit up and down overall, but he started his Stockholm qualifying campaign in convincing fashion with a straightforward win over Jan Simonsson.
Samuel is a name to watch and had a solid qualifying opener himself, seeing off Karl Friberg comfortably enough to suggest he is in decent touch. The young Brit has confidence and his season has gone reasonably well, but stepping up to face a wily left-hander with Mannarino’s indoor pedigree is a different challenge entirely. Experience tends to count in these conditions and Mannarino knows exactly how to manage this kind of match.
Prediction: Mannarino in 2
These two meet for the first time and there is an interesting storyline running through this match, because both players made their names on clay and are now having to adapt to an indoor hard court surface that suits a different kind of game. Tirante has shown genuine quality this season and when he is striking the ball cleanly and dictating from the baseline, he can cause problems for most opponents at this level.
Munar is the kind of player who makes you work incredibly hard for every single point. His court coverage is excellent, he retrieves balls that most players would write off and he has the defensive solidity to frustrate opponents who rely on hitting through him. He also carries more ATP Tour experience into this contest, and that tends to matter in tight three-set matches on a surface that neither player calls their natural home. Tirante will have his moments, but Munar’s ability to absorb pressure and grind out results should see him through.
Prediction: Munar in 3
