The Irish Lottery has become very popular with punters in the UK over recent years. The main attraction is that you get paid out at big odds for matching only a few correct numbers . So it is a great way to turn a small stake into a big win.

There are 47 numbers in the Irish Lotto with 6 numbers and a bonus ball being drawn.
You can bet on between 1 and 5 numbers being drawn with matching all 5 numbers resulting in the biggest payout. Bookmakers generally don’t let you bet on all 6 numbers being drawn as the payout would be too large!
When betting on the Irish Lotto with a bookmaker, you are given fixed-odds which will depend on how many numbers you choose to include in your bet. Bookmakers odds vary slightly from one to another as shown in the tables below. As well as the main Lotto draw you can also bet on the Lotto Plus 1 & 2 games which are also drawn every Wednesday and Saturday giving you two extra chances to win big.
You also have the option of betting with or without the bonus ball. If you choose to bet with the bonus ball, the odds of your bet will be slightly lower as there is a greater chance your numbers will be draw.
For example, if you placed a bet on the number 7 in the Irish Lotto and the numbers were the following:
Your bet would lose if you chose not to include the bonus ball but win if you chose to include it since the bonus ball was your number.
Betting on the Irish Lottery with bookmakers gives you a lot more flexibility in your bets. Maybe you have just 1 lucky number and would like to bet on that number being drawn. At Betfred and the other bookmakers listed, you can. Should that number be drawn, you will receive 6 x your stake back. If you have 3 lucky numbers and they all make an appearance in the draw you entered, you would receive 700 x your stake back!
