“I met Ron Hallam one year around Christmas in the early 80s after he donated a prize to a local radio station running a charity auction. The prize being a ride in his hot air balloon! I won that auction and being a doting husband I passed the prize onto my then wife. We drove to Leicester and found Ron to be both extremely generous and charming. He not only made us most welcome in his home, but after the balloon crashed through a tree and threw everyone out, at a later date he gave my ex a second free trip in the skies. We did not stay in touch, but I still remember Ron as being one of the nicest genuine chaps I had ever met. I am sure that if Ron remains in control of 'Mark Jarvis' such attitude is reflected by all or most of his staff.”
