Bath Racecourse is owned by Arena Racing Company and located on Lansdown Hill which is just over 3 miles northeast of Bath in Somerset.

Although not the biggest racecourse in the country, due to its picturesque setting, Bath is a popular destination for both avid racegoers and those looking for an enjoyable day out with a picnic.

In 2015/16 the Arena Racing Company invested heavily in the racecourse, providing significant redevelopment along with the new Langridge Grandstand which features a roof garden for spectators to watch the races.

Although Hexham and Exeter Racecourse are higher, Bath is one of the highest flat racecourse in the country being 780 feet above sea level.

The going at Bath can be rather firm during the dryer months due to the course having no watering facility.

Bath Feature Races

The Lansdown Fillies’ Stakes and the Beckford Stakes are the two main events that take place annually at Bath Racecourse.

The Lansdown Fillies’ Stakes is a Listed race that takes place in April. It was introduced in 1999 and is run over a distance of 5 furlongs and 10 yards.

The Beckford Stakes was created as a new Listed race in 2016 and features in October. It’s open to fillies and mares aged three years or older and run over a distance of 1 mile and 6 furlongs.
