Huntingdon Racecourse is located in Brampton near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire and hosts 17 jump race meetings throughout the year.

It’s a relatively small racecourse but has some excellent facilities that include a champagne bar and a fine dining restaurant.

It’s a popular destination for all types of racegoers and also with families who make use of the free entertainment that is often provided on available weekends.

Huntingdon Racecourse

Huntingdon is a right-handed oval-shaped course that is around 1 1/2 miles around. The track hosts jumps racing only and feature nine fences in total.

The bends are relatively easy and the track favours those with speed over stamina.

Huntingdon Feature Races

Huntingdon hosts races in nine months of the year with the most prestigious being the Peterborough Chase which takes place in December. It is a Grade 2 National Hunt Chase that is run over 2 miles and 4 furlongs and features 16 fences to be jumped.

Trained by Henrietta Knight, Edredon Bleu has won the race the most times with four victories and was ridden by jockey Jim Culloty on three of those occasions.

Another popular race is the National Hunt Listed Sidney Banks Memorial Novices’ Hurdle which takes place in February along with Boxing Day meets which are loved by the locals who head to the course for a day full of fun, music and racing.
