The 14th edition of the Caribbean Premier League reaches its climax on Sunday 20th September as Antigua and Barbuda Falcons take on Jamaica Kingsmen in the final at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, with the match getting under way at 11pm UK time.
The Falcons reached the final in convincing fashion, brushing Guyana Amazon Warriors aside in Qualifier 1. The Kingsmen took a harder road, losing their last two group games before rediscovering their best cricket and beating Guyana by five wickets in Qualifier 2. Moeen Ali’s side have been the form team of the tournament, unbeaten in their last five games, while Jamaica have timed their run well and arrive with momentum from those two knockout victories.
Kensington Oval has produced decent T20 cricket throughout CPL 2026. The average first innings score has sat around 159, and chasing teams have held a slight edge over the course of the tournament. Maaz Sadaqat is arguably the most explosive opener in this tournament right now. The Pakistani batter blasted an unbeaten 112 off just 49 balls in the previous game, and if he fires again at the top of the order the Falcons bowlers will have a serious problem on their hands. He gives Jamaica the kind of platform that changes a final completely.
Shadab Khan will be crucial for the Falcons. In a match where conditions suit spin and where a player capable of contributing with bat and ball can shift the game, Shadab is exactly the kind of cricketer who wins finals. He has the temperament and the skill set for this stage of a tournament.
The Falcons have been the most consistent side throughout CPL 2026 and their five match unbeaten run gives them a clear edge in terms of confidence and cohesion. Moeen Ali has this group playing well together, and they have already beaten the Kingsmen when it mattered at Sabina Park. Jamaica have dangerous players throughout their lineup, particularly Maaz Sadaqat and Andre Russell, and they cannot be written off lightly after the way they bounced back through the qualifiers. That said, the Falcons look the stronger overall unit and the slight chasing advantage at Kensington Oval plays into their hands if they field second.
