Located in a seaside town on the Yorkshire Coast, Redcar Racecourse is a popular destination for those looking for a day of racing along with stretches of coastal beaches.

Flat racing takes place at the course from April through to November with meetings having a laid-back atmosphere and relaxed dress code, making it popular with various types of spectators.

Redcar Course

The course at Redcar is a left-handed flat oval that has two tight bends. It’s around 1 mile and 4 furlongs around and has a 3-furlong chute which allows for a 1-mile straight run.

Redcar Feature Races

Redcar isn’t known for hosting prestigious races but flat race meetings do take place from April to November each year.

Some of the more popular races at the course include the Zetland Gold Cup which takes place in May/June and is run over a distance of 1 mile and 2 furlongs, along with the valuable Two-Year-Old Trophy and the Guisborough Stakes which both take place in early October.
