Sam Turner goes under the name Robin Goodfellow when providing daily horse racing tips for readers of the Daily Mail.
His interest in betting and in particular, betting on horse racing, began at an early age when he said he skipped school to head to the bookies and place 50p bets on the days races.
After leaving school, Sam met Andy Holding (now OddsChecker columnist) who offered him a job as a board marker at the races. His interest in the sport continued and as he gained more experience in betting on horse racing, he eventually landed a job with Ceefax writing headlines and race analysis.
In 2001/2022 whilst working freelance for the Shropshire Star, Sam impressively won the NAPs table following a great run of results including a dream week throughout Cheltenham. That feat helped him get work with other establishments in the industry such as The Sportsman where he was one of the four horsemen along with Simon Rowlands, Ian Dean and Richard O’Brien.
He now provides racing tips and analysis for the national newspaper, the Daily Mail.
