Warwick Tips

Warwick Racecourse is a popular National Hunt racing course that host 25 meetings annually. It is one of 15 racecourses owned by The Jockey Club and was originally opened back in 1707 but it was another 102 years before the first stand was built.

National Hunt races take place from September through to May with the Kingmaker Chase being the highlight of the season at the racecourse.

Warwick Racecourse

Warwick Racecourse is left-handed, flat and 1.6 miles around with ten fences to be jumped per circuit.

The course tends to suit handy horses due to being quite tight.

The course did use to host both Flat and National Hunt racing but the decision was made in July 2014 to end flat racing with the final flat fixture taking place in the August.

Warwick Feature Races

Since 2104, Warwick only hosts National Hunt races and there are 25 meetings that take place each year from September through to May.

January is one of the biggest months at Warwick Racecourse with the Classic Chase and Leamington Novice’s Hurdle both taking place on Classic Chase Day.

February brings us The Kingmaker Raceday which features the Kingmaker Chase with the winner of the race gaining entry to the Cheltenham Festival and Aintree Grand National!
