Denise Coates, who is director and joint owner of bet365, is the best paid boss in the UK, according to a new report on BBC News.
Ms Coates reportedly earned a total of £265 million last year. So much for the gender pay gap!
As the online gambling sector continues to go from strength to strength, bet365 benefits from being ranked as one of the best online betting sites by both users and industry experts.
Their success has lead to record breaking revenues, up over 30% from the previous year, which are shown in the company’s online accounts filing at Companies House. And as you may have seen in our review, bet365 is a privately owned company, which means those profits go direct to the owners, not to public shareholders.
Clearly these are eye watering sums, but credit must be given where it’s due. The Coates family were quick to spot the huge potential in the online betting market, and moved to position themselves at the forefront of the industry. They continue to offer an all round service which few of their competitors can match.
While other bookies come and go, bet365 have stayed at the top. To be able to do that for an extended period is no mean feat in what is a very competitive industry. Denise Coates has done very well out of it, but her success has been earned. Many will be envious of her success, but we would rather offer our congratulations for a difficult job well done.
