Are you looking to bet on The Traitors? Who is your pick? Keep reading to find out who Charlotte Chilton is tipping to win the show and which celebrities she’s writing off.
Speaking exclusively to WhichBookie, Charlotte said:
“Both my heart and my head are with Alan Carr to win the series. I’ve wanted him to win from the start, even before the show began. I’ve always thought he could do it. As the game has progressed, he’s really grown into it. He’s talked his way out of so much and disarms people when they’re writing on the board. They end up laughing along with him and not writing his name! They never come away from those interactions suspicious of him.
“He is very clever and good at pretending not to know what’s going on. With so few of them left, everyone’s name is going to come up at some point. I think on another series, his slip-up with the shield and the round table would’ve aroused suspicion, but I don’t think it’s going to be an issue with this group. So much has already slipped by at the table. They’re some really intelligent people, but I’m not seeing them analyse these things enough.
“I think the decision to ‘murder’ Paloma Faith early on was a good one for him, in the sense that, if he’s such good friends with here, why would he want her there? I personally wouldn’t want my good friend as a faithful if I was a traitor. She would have been able to read him, so it was a smart move. It also made the faithfuls discount him early on.
“If he’d done it later in the series when the heat was on him, it’d would’ve landed completely differently. It would have looked like a last-ditch attempt to prove his innocence, and they might have caught him out. Instead, he started the game with intention and it has worked for him.”
Charlotte named her ideal trio of traitors from the current cast as Alan Carr, Celia Imrie and Charlotte Church.
“I always wanted Alan to be one of the traitors,” she said. “I was chuffed when he was revealed. I also wanted Celia Imrie, because I thought she would’ve been fantastic. I would’ve liked to see Charlotte Church as a traitor, because the Welsh always seem to do well on the show. As Amanda said in season one, they just have that accent that you feel you can trust.
“She was so personable and down to earth that she could have been a good traitor. We know that because they were looking at her as a potential traitor and came to the conclusion that, with the way she’s acted, she could just be really good at it. The three traitors have obviously done well so far, but Alan, Celia and Charlotte were the three I thought would have been a really good trio.
“I liked the idea of Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross not both being traitors, because they’re such big characters. It would’ve been interested to see two big characters in that scenario. With Jonathan being a traitor, his job is to squad any suspicion quickly, whereas when you’re a faithful you fight right to the end to prove your innocence and it would have been fun to see him in that situation.”
Chilton also told WhichBookie that she believes Jonathan Ross is on borrowed time and will likely be the first traitor to be exposed.
Charlotte said: “Jonathan Ross is on borrowed time, he’s going to go soon. The only way he can survive is if he throws one of the other traitors overboard. I think Cat is living dangerously as well, but she seems to want Jonathan gone. In her master interview she even said she was feeding it to them and they still weren’t voting him out.
“I’ve seen Jonathan turn to her a few times and hive her a look as if to say, ‘why have you said that?’ However, he doesn’t seem to have addressed it with her yet. We obviously don’t see every interaction, but I’m surprised he hasn’t brought it up yet as far as we’ve seen.
“He seems to think that he’s the lead traitor, but I don’t believe that to be the case. I think Alan is instigating a lot more than he’s letting on. He always seems to have the final say and the rest of them follow him. He listens, he summarises, and then they tend to lean toward his opinion. I think Alan is letting Jonathan think he has all the power, when in reality it’s the other way round.
“Cat is doing the same. Alan and Cat are actually the two lead traitors. In my mind, they’re on quite level fields and they understand they need each other. They both know they’re quite happy to get rid of Jonathan if they have to, so he can’t be the leader.”
