Another massive Champions League night is on the cards, and this one feels tasty. Bayer Leverkusen welcome Paris Saint-Germain to the BayArena, and honestly, you can just feel the energy already.
Leverkusen have been flying domestically — full of confidence, slick football, and goals from all over the pitch. But now comes the real test: PSG. Luis Enrique’s side haven’t lost in Europe this season and, let’s be honest, they look like a team built for these occasions. So, who blinks first under the lights in Leverkusen? Let’s take a look.
Bayer Leverkusen
The good news for Kasper Hjulmand is that his side are playing with rhythm and belief. They beat Union Berlin 2-0 last time out, keeping 74% of the ball and creating plenty. Ernest Poku and Christian Kofane both found the net in that one, and both are pushing to start again.
Defensively, Leverkusen have been decent but not flawless. Edmond Tapsoba and Loïc Badé anchor the back three, while Grimaldo and Lucas Vázquez will push high as wing-backs. The midfield pairing of Robert Andrich and Equi Fernández is key — they’ll be tasked with stopping PSG’s slick ball movement through the middle.
Patrik Schick is still sidelined with a hamstring injury, and Nathan Tella isn’t quite match-ready yet, which means Ernest Poku could continue up top. Hjulmand has plenty of creativity though, especially with Claudio Echeverri and Malik Tillman behind the striker.
Paris Saint-Germain
PSG come in looking confident — and why wouldn’t they? They’ve been tidy at both ends, winning regularly and scoring for fun. Luis Enrique’s only real injury headaches are Fabián Ruiz and Ousmane Dembélé, both out with muscle problems.
That said, this team is stacked. The midfield trio of Vitinha, João Neves, and Warren Zaïre-Emery looks silky smooth, while new arrival Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has added some chaos on the left wing. On the other side, Bradley Barcola brings raw pace, and Gonçalo Ramos has been ruthless in front of goal.
At the back, Marquinhos and Lucas Hernández form a solid partnership, with Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes flying forward from full-back. Lucas Chevalier gets the nod in goal.
Bayer Leverkusen (3-4-2-1):
Flekken; Tapsoba, Badé, Grimaldo; Vázquez, Andrich, Equi Fernández, Arthur; Tillman, Echeverri; Poku
PSG (4-3-3):
Chevalier; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Lucas Hernández, Nuno Mendes; Vitinha, Neves, Zaïre-Emery; Barcola, Ramos, Kvaratskhelia
Here’s what I think… there are goals in this one. Both sides love to attack, and both can get caught out at the back when they push too high. PSG’s front line looks lethal right now, but Leverkusen are no pushovers at home — they’ve scored in every one of their last six matches.
PSG’s defensive record is strong in Europe, but with Leverkusen’s pace out wide, that clean-sheet streak could end here. I wouldn’t be surprised if both teams find the net.
Betting angles worth a look:
Leverkusen will try to control possession early, but PSG’s press and counter-attack could hurt them. Expect Vitinha and Neves to dictate the tempo, with Kvaratskhelia causing problems down the left.
Leverkusen’s midfield duo are good, but PSG have more cutting edge in the final third. If Ramos is on form, he’ll get chances — and usually, he takes them.
Match Prediction: PSG to win. Bet with bet365.
You know what? I’m leaning towards a 2-1 PSG win. Leverkusen will play their part — probably score first or at least push PSG deep — but the French side just have too much quality.
Correct Score Prediction: Bayer Leverkusen 1-2 PSG. Bet with bet365.
The numbers point towards goals. Leverkusen have scored 11 across their last six, while PSG have netted 11 in their last six too. Defensively, neither side is watertight, so it’s fair to expect action.
Over/Under Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals. Bet with bet365.
Here’s a Bet Builder combo I like for this one:
That’s your European football special – attacking play, high tempo, and plenty of drama.
Bet Builder Tip: PSG to Win, BTTS Yes, Ramos Anytime Scorer. Bet with bet365.

I think PSG will take it.
My prediction: PSG 2, Leverkusen 1.
Very likely yes. Leverkusen tend to find the net, and PSG have enough firepower.
Look at Echeverri for Leverkusen, Kvaratskhelia and Neves for PSG.
