Another tasty Premier League clash is on the cards as Brighton welcome Tottenham to the Amex. Brighton are usually a tough nut to crack at home, but they come into this one licking their wounds after a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth. Tottenham, on the other hand, are buzzing after a 3-0 win over West Ham that’s given them three victories from their first four games under Thomas Frank.
So, who takes control on the south coast? Let’s take a look.
Brighton’s defensive worries continue. Fabian Hürzeler is still without Jan Paul van Hecke (knee), and Pervis Estupiñán (hamstring) is sidelined. Tariq Lamptey is pushing to be fit but may only make the bench. The midfield looks steadier, though, with Billy Gilmour and Pascal Groß expected to start. Up top, João Pedro should lead the line again, with Mitoma and Welbeck buzzing around him.
Tottenham’s big focus is on their centre-backs. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven both trained this week, which is a huge boost. James Maddison is fit and firing, while Brennan Johnson could keep his place after an impressive showing against West Ham. The only confirmed absentee is Ryan Sessegnon, who’s still out with a long-term hamstring issue.
Likely Lineups
Brighton: Verbruggen; Lamptey, Dunk, Igor, Estupiñán; Gilmour, Groß; Mitoma, Lallana, Welbeck; João Pedro
Tottenham: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bissouma, Bentancur; Johnson, Maddison, Son; Richarlison
This game has goals written all over it. Both teams love to attack, neither is watertight at the back, and the stats scream “BTTS.” Brighton have scored in every home match so far, while Spurs have already bagged eight goals in four games.
Betting angles worth a look:
Tottenham look the sharper of the two sides right now. Brighton’s home form is always strong, but Spurs are playing with real belief. If Romero and Van de Ven start, Tottenham’s defense looks solid enough to weather Brighton’s pressure while Maddison and Son create chances at the other end.
Prediction: Tottenham to avoid defeat, with a draw or narrow Spurs win most likely.
Match Prediction: TottenhamA to win. Bet with bet365.
I’m leaning towards a tight, entertaining game. Brighton will score – they usually do at the Amex – but Tottenham’s attack should find the net more than once.
Correct Score Prediction: Brighton 1-2 Tottenham. Bet with bet365.
The numbers don’t lie: goals are coming. Brighton’s last six home league games all saw both teams score. Spurs, meanwhile, have scored at least two in three of their opening four matches. Over 2.5 looks safe, but if you want more value, over 3.5 could be worth a go.
Over/Under Prediction: Over 3.5 Goals. Bet with bet365.
Here’s a Brighton vs Tottenham Bet Builder I like for Saturday evening:
That’s your classic “chaos with quality” combo – and it feels spot on for these two.
Bet Builder Tip: BTTS, Over 2.5 Goals, Richarlison to Score, Tottenham or Draw. Bet with bet365.

Tottenham look more likely to get a result, but Brighton’s home form keeps things close. A draw or a Spurs win feels most realistic.
Expect goals on both sides. A 2-1 Tottenham win or a 1-1 draw wouldn’t surprise me.
The match is set for the Amex Stadium, Brighton’s home ground.
Tottenham are flying with three wins from four, while Brighton are struggling after back-to-back league losses.
