The Premier League’s back after the international break, and Manchester City are ready to get back to business. They host Everton at the Etihad, aiming to climb to the top of the table — at least for a little while.
City have found their rhythm again with three wins from their last four league games, while Everton are still figuring themselves out on the road. So, can Pep’s side keep the pressure on their title rivals, or will the Toffees pull off a shock in Manchester? Let’s take a look.
City fans will be happy to know Erling Haaland is fit and firing. He’s scored in five straight Premier League games, and with 12 already this season, he’s chasing Jamie Vardy’s record for consecutive scoring runs. Can you imagine if he breaks it before Christmas?
Pep Guardiola still has a few injury issues to manage. Rodri and Rayan Aït-Nouri are both out, while Abdukodir Khusanov remains sidelined. Expect Nico González to start in midfield, with Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez, and Jeremy Doku likely buzzing around Haaland up top. You can already see how much chaos that front line could cause.
As for Everton, David Moyes has problems of his own. Jack Grealish can’t play against his parent club — a big miss, considering how influential he’s been since joining. Jarrad Branthwaite, Michael Keane, and Merlin Rohl are still in the treatment room, though Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall returns from suspension to boost the midfield.
Moyes might hand Tyler Dibling another chance, but don’t be surprised if Everton play it safe and sit deep. They’ve struggled away from home, losing three of their last four Premier League trips.
Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Gvardiol, Lewis; Kovacic, Nico; Foden, Alvarez, Doku; Haaland.
Everton: Pickford; Patterson, Tarkowski, Godfrey, Mykolenko; Garner, Onana, Dewsbury-Hall; Dibling, McNeil; Calvert-Lewin.
Here’s what I think — there are goals in this one. City at home rarely take their foot off the gas, and Haaland looks unstoppable right now. Everton will dig in, but with their defensive absences and shaky away record, it’s hard to see them keeping City quiet.
A few betting angles worth considering:
Everton might hold out for a while, but once City find a rhythm, it usually turns into a long afternoon for whoever’s in front of them.
City will control possession from start to finish. Expect slick passing, waves of attacks, and a few moments of magic from Foden or Doku. Everton’s best chance? Hitting on the counter with Calvert-Lewin’s aerial strength or McNeil’s delivery.
Still, City’s quality should tell over 90 minutes. They’ve beaten Everton in four of their last five meetings and outscored them 11–2 in that run. Add in the home crowd and Haaland’s hot streak — it’s hard to bet against Pep’s side.
Match Prediction: Manchester City to win. Bet with bet365.
I’m leaning towards a 3–1 win for City. Haaland to bag at least one, Foden to get involved, and maybe a late consolation from Everton. It’s the kind of scoreline that fits both teams’ current form.
Correct Score Prediction: Manchester City 3–1 Everton. Bet with bet365.
The numbers point to goals. City have scored two or more in five of their last six Premier League games, and their home form remains outstanding. Everton have conceded eight goals in their last four away matches, which doesn’t help.
Over 2.5 feels safe, but if you want a bit more excitement, over 3.5 goals might just land.
Over/Under Prediction: Over 3.5 Goals. Bet with bet365.
Here’s a combo I like for Saturday afternoon:
That’s your attacking football special — and it matches exactly how I see this one going.
Bet Builder Tip: City to Win, Over 2.5 Goals, Haaland to Score, Foden Assist. Bet with bet365.

Manchester City are strong favourites, especially at home. Everton’s injuries and away form make this a tough task.
Our prediction: Manchester City 3–1 Everton.
Absolutely. He’s in red-hot form and loves playing at the Etihad.
They’ll need to be perfect defensively and take every chance they get. But realistically, City should have too much quality.
