Ante post betting offers punters the chance to lock in early value before the markets react to things like declarations, form, and final fields. On this page, you’ll find our expert ante post horse racing tips for the biggest races on the calendar – including the Cheltenham Festival, Grand National, Royal Ascot, Epsom Derby, and more.
All of our ante-post tips come from our two racing analysts, Will Smith & Dave Young. Both Will and Dave have years of experience in horse racing and providing value betting tips with great success. You can visit our main horse racing tips page to view their daily tips and EW Lucky 15s.
Ante post betting allows you to place a bet on a horse race well in advance – sometimes months before the off. Unlike traditional race-day markets, ante post odds are set early, often before final declarations, which means there’s both risk and reward.
If your horse doesn’t run, you don’t get your money back (unless the market is NRNB – more on that below). But if you spot value before the rest of the market catches on, the odds can be significantly more generous than on race day.
Our ante post horse racing tips are added regularly and usually focus on the most biggest races and festivals throughout the year. Our racing experts take several factors into consideration when looking for early value, and have had great success with their ante-post picks in the past.
You’ll find all of today’s ante-post tips at the top of this page.
Ante post betting is most popular on the big races throughout the year. Here are some of the races and big meetings that our racing analysts provide ante-post tips for:
Unfortunately, we can’t say when tips will be available for the above races. We publish our ante-post tips as soon as our racing analysts have found runners with value that they’re comfortable sharing and advising at early prices.
The main appeal of ante post horse racing tips is the chance to lock in bigger odds than you’ll find closer to race day. The early bird catches the worm, and for savvy punters, getting on before a horse shortens up can be the difference between a big profit and a missed opportunity.
One of the key differences in ante post betting is how non-runners are treated. In standard ante post markets, if your horse doesn’t run, you lose your stake. However, bookies often offer Non-Runner No Bet (NRNB) as big festivals approach.
The amount of time until the race, stages of declarations, and other races horses may be entered into, can be factors to consider when deciding on whether or not to take NRNB on your ante-post bets. Generally, NRNB is the preferred choice and you’ll see it advised when available by our racing experts Will Smith & Dave Young.
Not all betting sites are the same when it comes to ante post markets. Some offer early prices weeks or months in advance, while others lag behind. You may also want to look out for the bookies offering NRNB on ante-post markets to add some security to your bets.
