Nottingham Racecourse was opened in 1893 and is situated in Colwick Park, around 3km east of Nottingham City centre.
Nottingham hosts two courses which are situated inside of one another with both being around 1.5 miles around.
The course hit the headlines in April 2013 when My Time, Majestic Manannan and Thorpe Bay all placed fourth in the Lodge Farm Stud Chris and May Mullin Handicap which was just the second time in a decade that any race had produced a triple dead-heat.
Nottingham Racecourse
As mentioned above, Nottingham Racecourse is home to two courses that run parallel to each other and around 1 1/2 miles around. The course is left-handed and has a home straight of four furlongs but there is also a straight course that can host races of up to 5 furlongs on the inner course and up to 6 furlongs on the outer.

Noteable races at Nottingham Racecourse include the Barry Hills Further Flight Stakes and the Nottinghamshire Oaks which are listed races that take place early on in the season in April.
The Kilvington Fillies’ Stakes takes place a month later which is run over a distance of 6 furlongs and 18 yards and was introduced in 2000.
