Hamilton Park Tips

Hamilton Park is a picturesque racecourse in Scotland that is located south of Glasgow.

The raceourse hosts flat racing from May through to October and is a popular venue with those from Glasgow and further afield due to its lively atmosphere.

Hamilton Park opened in 1923 and has been owned by the Hamilton Park Trust since 1973. The current owners put all profits back into the course which has resulted in significant improvement of the venue over the years.

Hamilton Park course consists of a six-furlong straight that joins a right-handed loop about halfway. It’s not an easy course and horses with stamina tend to do better due to the tough final three furlongs which are all uphill.

Hamilton Park Feature Races

Flat races are held at Hamilton Park from May through to September each year. There aren’t many major events held here but because the racing is held during the summer months it does mean that the course is able to bring in large crowds.

The Glasgow Stakes is one big race that takes place at Hamilton Park. It is a listed flat race open to three-year-old horses and is run over a distance of 1 mile, 3 furlongs and 15 yards in July at the course. The Glasgow Stakes used to be served as a trial for the Epsom Derby.
