The 2026 World Cup gets underway on the 11th June and will run for four weeks with the final being held on Sunday 19th July.
It’s the first time in history that the tournament will be hosted by three nations with 16 cities across the United States, Canada and Mexico hosting matches. It’s also the first time that the World Cup will feature 48 teams – an increase of 12 from 36 at previous tournaments.
If you’re thinking of having a bet on the World Cup, whether it be on matches in the group stages, the final or ante-post bets on the top goal scorer or player of the tournament, we have you covered.
WhichBookie’s football expert Liam Johnson provides football tips throughout the season and will of course be covering matches taking place at the 2026 World Cup.
Liam will be providing tips for every match taking place at the 2026 World Cup. This includes all 80 group stage matches as well as the 24 matches that take place throughout the knockout stages.
Many of the group stage betting tips and previews will be published in the weeks and days leading up to the World Cup and betting tips for the knockout stage games will be live once the teams featuring are confirmed.
As well as tips for each World Cup match, you’ll also be able to read previews for the games along with team news, expected line-ups and more.
There are several ante-post betting markets available for the 2026 World Cup with some of the most popular being:
You’ll find betting tips for several of the above markets in the months leading up to the World Cup with tips listed on this page.
With the 2026 World Cup fast approaching, it’s time to start looking at the potential tournament winner. I’ll be focussing on the favourites to lift the trophy and also some of the outsiders who I believe have a strong chance of progressing in the competition.
We’ll be providing World Cup tips for every match played throughout the competition so be sure to check back when the tournament gets underway.
There isn’t one team that stands out from the crowd to me this year. England are far too short based on current form and I’m reluctant to back Brazil given their past finishes in the tournament. France would be my pick from the favourites but similar to England, they had a horrid Nations League campaign, picking up just one win from six. However, I do think that we’ll see more of what we’re used to from France throughout the World Cup and so, along with tipping Netherlands as an outsider, I’m taking a chance on France & Netherlands to meet in the final at best odds of 33/1 with BetVictor.
With 104 matches taking place within the space of a month at the 2026 World Cup, it’s the perfect time to consider placing an ACCA or two.
During the group stages, there will be games played every day for 12 days which are then followed by the knockout stages.
World Cup accumulators can contain matches taking place on the same day or you can look ahead and include selections in your bet for games taking place several days in advance.
Liam Johnson will be providing WhichBookie readers with free World Cup ACCA tips throughout the tournament and incorporating ACCA Refund offers where available to maximise value from the bets.
All of our individual match previews feature live betting odds for each World Cup game. You’ll find the live odds at the top of each page so that you know what the prices are when you are ready to place your bet and what prices the bets were advised at when they were published.
It’s easy to take the advice of tipsters when betting on the World Cup but it may also be a good idea to do some research yourself and apply the best betting strategies so that you give yourself the best chance of ending the tournament with a profit.
The World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events to take place and because of that, it’s no surprise that a huge amount of money is bet on it. Bookmakers want your business during this time and one way they attract both new and existing customers is with the betting offers that they make available.
Betting offers can add to the value of your bets throughout the tournament and significantly increase your chances of making a profit. Therefore, it’s often a good idea to take the bookies up on these offers and claim as many of the good ones as possible. That’s why we recommend opening accounts with several different bookies prior to the tournament starting so that you are ready to claim the offers when they become available.
You’ll find a list of betting sites on our Best Bookmakers For The World Cup page.
Some betting offers you can expect to be available throughout the 2026 World Cup include:
Statistics are a great way to determine the best bets to place on any sporting event or competition. This year’s tournament will be the 23rd World Cup to be played and so there is a lot of data available.
Some teams have poor records at the World Cup whereas others seem to do better than they would in other tournaments.
The same goes for players who may play better or worse for their national team than they do at club level.
All of these statistics are available for free online and it’s a good idea to spend a bit of time going through the data to confirm or overturn the bets you are considering placing.
One of the best pieces of advice we can give, whether you are betting on live games or placing pre-match bets, is to watch as many of the games throughout the tournament that you can. This is especially useful for when betting on teams or players throughout the knockout stages as you will have a better understanding of how they have performed in the tournament up to that point.
All of the games will be broadcast live on television and you can also watch some matches via your betting account.
You’ll find a list of available World Cup matches that can be streamed via Bet365 on our football live streaming page.
England are currently join-favourites to win the 2026 World Cup. They share a 7/1 price with five-time winners Brazil, and 2018 winners, France.
England reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. After advancing from Group B and defeating Senegal 3–0 in the Round of 16, they were eliminated by France in a 2–1 loss. This marked England’s seventh elimination at the quarter-final stage of a World Cup, more than any other nation.
This will be the first major tournament England will be participating in under the management of Thomas Tuchel. He follows on from Gareth Southgate who despite dividing opinions amongst fans, took England to consecutive European Championship finals in 2020 & 2024. Many will be expecting a more attacking style of display from Tuchel, and with a wealth of talent at his disposal, expectations are once again high for the England team at the World Cup.
Fixtures for the 2026 World Cup have not yet been announced. The draw to determine the groups will take place in December 2025 and fixtures should be released shortly afterwards.
The official England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has not yet been announced. Typically, national teams reveal their final World Cup squads a few weeks before the tournament begins. The 2026 World Cup is scheduled to start on 11th June, with the final on 19th July.
England’s head coach, Thomas Tuchel, named his first squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia in March 2025. This squad included recalls for Jordan Henderson and Marcus Rashford, as well as first-time call-ups for Myles Lewis-Skelly and Dan Burn .
The final squad for the World Cup will likely be announced in the weeks leading up to the tournament, probably in May 2026.
