Mr Green Review

Everything you need to know about MrGreen

MrGreen is predominantly known as an online casino which launched in 2008 but released a sportsbook option for customers just before the 2016 European Football Championships.

MrGreen have won awards for their casino but in this MrGreen review, we’ll be focussing more on the sports betting side of the site and determining whether or not it is or will be as successful as their online casino.

Sports & Betting Markets

There is a good number of sports available to bet on at MrGreen. No less than 36 in fact. You’ll find all of the sports you’d expect to find at any bookmaker such as football, horse racing, tennis, golf and rugby, along with some less-popular sports such as chess, floorball, bandy and trotting. For a sportsbook which was launched just a few years ago, MrGreen has done very well to provide such an offering to customers.

  • American Football
  • Australian Rules
  • Bandy
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Chess
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Esports
  • Floorball
  • Football
  • Golf
  • Greyhounds
  • Handball
  • Horse Racing
  • Ice Hockey
  • Motorsports
  • Mr Green Specials
  • Olympic Games
  • Politics
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Snooker
  • Squash
  • Surfing
  • TV & Novelty
  • Tennis
  • Trotting
  • UFC/MMA
  • Volleyball
  • WWE/Pro Wrestling
  • Winter Olympic Games
  • Winter Sports

One area where MrGreen could improve on is the number of available markets. Usually, for sports such as football, we’d expect 100+ markets for matches in high-profile leagues such as the English Premier League or La Liga. However, most football matches on the site have under 100. Although, this shouldn’t put the vast majority of customers off as you will still find all of the most popular markets such as match winner, correct score, HT/FT, first/last scorer as well as some specials such as betting on a player to provide an assist to a goal.

Horse Racing

Customers at Mr Green can bet on horse racing taking place around the world with races from the UK, Ireland, the USA and Australia all covered. Unfortunately, Mr Green stopped offering Best Odds Guaranteed in January 2020 which is a slight disappointment, as is the lack of other horse racing offers.

In-Play Betting

All in-play events which are available to bet on at MrGreen can be found by clicking on the ‘Live Betting’ tab in the sidebar menu. There is usually a very good number of live events available across various sports such as football, tennis, ice hockey, snooker and rugby and a reasonable number of in-play markets.

Like many top bookmakers, MrGreen provides a graphical representation of in-play events. For football matches, you will be able to see which team is attacking and other live events such as if a team has a corner, free kick or throw-in. Another feature we particularly liked at MrGreen was the in-depth statistics they provided. For example, you can select any football team from any league in the world and view a range of stats such as their recent results, league position, their form, squad players and individual statistics such as goals, assists and appearances as well as the most common lineup which can help you determine the best bets to place on player markets.

Live Streaming

Currently, MrGreen only provides live streams for greyhound racing and do not provide a live streaming service for any other sporting events. We’re hoping that this is a feature which the bookmaker will implement in the near future as they develop. For greyhound racing, MrGreen provides a ‘Bet & Watch’ service from 11 UK tracks with 19,000+ races shown each year. Customers are required to place a bet of at least £1 on the race they wish to watch to access the stream.

Customer Service

MrGreen customer support is available via email, telephone and live chat 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Support is also available in a number of different languages, catering to customers around the world.

Live chat is the most popular method of support and can be accessed via the ‘help’ button in the bottom right corner of the screen. Upon testing, we were connected to a support agent within 30 seconds and they were very polite and dealt with our query without any issues. The email support team are also generally quick to respond with emails replied to within a few hours on average.

MrGreen App

The all-in-one MrGreen app is available to download for iOS and Android devices from the associated app stores. Customers will be able to access both the MrGreen Casino and MrGreen Sportsbook from within the one app with balances between the sections integrated.

The app works in a similar way to the mobile website with the addition of an extra menu for quick access to the casino, live casino, sports, jackpot bets and other sections of the app.

The app is very user-friendly and easy to use although there is a slight delay in pages loading and so we’d like to see the speed improved slightly.

Overall, the MrGreen app is good and is recommended to anyone who currently holds a MrGreen account and uses it either for sports betting or for playing casino games.

The Website

When you visit the MrGreen homepage, you’ll notice that the main focus is on casino games. If you wish to visit the sportsbook section, simply click on ‘Sports’ in the main menu.

The sports section of MrGreen is very easy to navigate around. You’ll find a long list of sports in the sidebar for quick access and the main section of the page is populated with sporting highlights, live in-play events and a search function allowing you to quickly find a specific event or competition.

The site generally has a nice feel to it and we like the simplicity of the event listings which have big boxes containing the odds and good categorisation. Overall, we really like the MrGreen website as a whole and found no issues while using it.

Mr Green allows customers to cash out their sports bets. Cash out is available on selected sports and markets and enables customers to settle their bet early to either lock in a profit or cut their losses. As cash out is not an availableoption for all bets, you can view which ones are by looking at your open bets. Any bets which are available to cash out will have a cash out button alongside them.

Online Casino

MrGreen was originally launched as an online casino back in 2008. Eight years prior to launching the MrGreen sportsbook. The casino section is the brands’ main focus and they have built up a strong and positive reputation as a quality online casino.

MrGreen Casino is host to over 300 games. The majority of these games are made up of slots, as you would expect, from various gaming providers such as NetEnt, Extreme and Evolution Gaming. You’ll also find dozens of versions of other popular games such as blackjack and roulette as well as baccarat, Texas Hold’em, Red Dog and more.

The MrGreen Live Casino also doesn’t disappoint with an impressive number of available games including roulette, blackjack, baccarat, poker and a range of game show type games such as Deal or No Deal, Dream Catcher and Monopoly Live.

There are various ways you can personalise your Mr Green account. A few of which we have listed below.

Deposit Limits: You’re able to set limits on how much you can deposit into your Mr Green account on a daily, monthly and weekly basis.

Loss Limits: You can also set limits to how much you can lose in any given day, week or month.

Activity Check: Users can set reminders for when they’ve been logged into their account for a specified amount of time. This applies to both the Mr Green sportsbook & casino.

Summary

The MrGreen sportsbook hasn’t been around for nearly as long as some of the more established bookmakers but they have developed an excellent service to complement an equally impressive online casino.

If you’re considering registering an account with MrGreen, be sure to take advantage of their welcome offer for new customers as detailed below.

I love Mr Green and not sure why they're not one of the more well-known bookies. Great casino, good bookmaker and some excellent promos. Def worth getting an account with imo.
